Sam felt her skin tingle as Jack ran a pink petaled daisy over pale her skin. She smiled lazily as she watched it descend from her shoulders to her waist and ending off at her hips.
Her eyes focused on the flower as it stilled over her hip, barely touching the small expanse of skin that showed.
She looked up and saw the laughter in his eyes, lifting her eyebrow part way in response to his smug grin. The smile that graced her lips dared him to go further, but the sound of children's laughter settled over her ears making her realise that they were in a public place.
And yet the daisy still travelled the length of her upper body. It skimmed the underside of her light blue cotton covered breasts, until dipping into her cleavage and disappearing behind the rim of her vest.
He swore he heard her exhale deeply, letting him know that she'd been holding in a breath, as his fingers brushed her already stimulated nipples, as he brought the flower back up, and brushed it up the expanse of her long swan like neck before finally ending it's journey by gently pushing it behind her ear, tucking some of her hair along with it. She'd let it grow, it's now long length framing her face.
The sun caught hold of her highlights as it drained through the tree's swaying branches, the light breeze brought colour into her cheeks, and her blue eyes shimmered with something he could only define as true happiness.
"What?" she whispered, her eyes catching his, a warm smile gracing her lips.
"Nothing," he muttered, brushing his thumb over her shoulder.
Her smile widened, her teeth were whiter that white, he noted and he found his eyes drawn to her mouth, only seconds before his lips touched hers.
It was only supposed to be a gentle brush of the lips, but when he tongue gently parted his lips the kiss turned more eager and passionate. It wasn't long before his longer frame stretched out over hers, her knees bent, tangling her legs with his.
She smiled again as he looked down at her, before kissing her again.
"Mommy, I forgot my Major Matt Mason doll!"
Sam and Jack separated and they both stared up at the small five-year-old figure that stood at their feet. The girl's hair was tucked loosely behind her ears, and a Matilda style ribbon had been tied into a bow that sat atop of her head, her blue eyes were filled with curiosity and determination.
"Oh," Sam said, untangling herself from Jack's very nice embrace, "well, we'll just have to go back home and get it."
The little girl nodded, thankful that home was only a ten minute walk. She watched her dad stand up, and then hold a hand out for her mother, which she took gratefully.
"Gracie, don't forget your backpack." Jack said pointing to the blue bag that sat on the grass.
Entwining Jack's fingers with hers, Sam watched their daughter pick up her bag and place it on her back, her short legs making her drag behind and causing her to run forward every now and again just to keep up with her parents languid pace.
Sam's free hand drifting up to the daisy in her hair, her finger tips brushing the smooth petals before she removed it from behind her ear and let it dangle delicately between her fingers.
"Major Matt Mason?" Jack asked curiously, remembering the day they first met, when she'd made a comment about playing with dolls, and how Kawalsky had tried to dig deeper by asking if it had been G.I.Joe, and her answer had surprised them all when she'd casually answered that no it had not been G.I.Joe but rather her much loved astronaut doll.
Sam smiled that mega-watt smile and simply said,
"It's a Carter thing."
End…!
