Hello! Here is the third part of the Legacy series. I made this one a bit more graphic and added a very, very small dash of NejiTen.
Disclaimer: Are there any pink-haired mini-Uchiha prodigies or Hyuuga's with 100% accuracy running around? I don't think so.
Determined hazel eyes glare at the mountain top. She is down at the bottom, having been detained by an enemy. Her teammates have already left for the top to complete their mission. They left her behind. She does not collect her weapons; she is too weak to summon them into her scrolls. Thus, half her weapons are left behind, stuck in the ground like a deadly defense. She grits her teeth against the pain and begins to climb the mountainside. Her hand drifts to her side. Red is slowly seeping through her shirt, but she does not stop climbing.
She is cut and bruised from her fight, the falling rocks, and the climbing. Her shirt is in tatters and her pants are shredded along the bottom, but she doesn't care. She will reach her teammates; she will help them; they will complete their mission. Her boys had rushed after the stronger enemy and chased him up the mountain. As of yet, they had not returned. She is worried, but she will not show it because she is stronger than she looks.
Pain spasms through her but she pushes on. Halfway there, she knows she is halfway there. Her boys are waiting for her and she will go to them. They are a team. They are close. They always go to each other. They are like a family.
She reaches the mountaintop and freezes in her tracks. Red is everywhere (her hand drifts to her side with a wince) and her teammates are lying in pools but the enemy is not. The enemy is wounded but not dead. She focuses on him with a glare. She suspects (she knows) that her boys are dead. They fight.
She flies with her weapons, with her dragons. He is grounded and cannot defeat her. He is dying when she lands and deals a fatal blow, then dies. She clutches her spasming heart in pain. She stumbles and lands near her green teammate. His suit is torn. She limps towards him and kneels next to his broken body. His dull eyes stare at her hauntingly and she closes his eyes in respect.
She turns her head and sees her long-haired teammate. She struggles to stand but cannot find the energy. So she drags herself to his body. She collapses next to him and props herself up on her arm. Fingers leave a bloody trail as she fingers his face. A tired, worn smile dances on her pale mouth. She brushes matted hair away from his face. She closes his pearlescent eyes in respect.
Her arm gives out. She lands with a dull thud. The bands around her buns snap and her hair mixes with his in their mixed blood. Her heart stops. He is the last thing she sees. When the search parties come for them, the stench of death settles around the base of the mountain. Her weapons present a formidable boundary. Two weeks after her team has died they were found.
"Hokuto-sama, what happened to Konoha's Team Nine when they were found?"
The elderly teacher smiled sadly at her student.
"They were buried on top of the mountain. Their bodies stank too badly and they were too decomposed to be moved."
"What about her weapons?" the student pressed. "Did the search parties remove them?"
Hokuto's teal eyes narrowed as several others sighed in annoyance. "Her weapons are still there. Tenten's weapons were designed to respond to her touch alone, so no one can remove them. That is why Hoshigakure and Konohagakure consider the Mountain of Nine as honored ground. Because one of Konoha's best teams died there."
