AN: Hey guys, this is my first Vampire Diaires story. It's extremely short, just the harsh ramblings of Damon's mind after he finds out of Katherine's betrayal. Told in third person. Please R&R!

He sits in the woods remembering. He wears the face of a man who has lost everything. He has lost everything. Everything that he believed in had turned out to be a lie. She had never loved him, and if she had, it hadn't been enough for her to search for him. One hundred and forty-five years of believing a lie. Damon cried. He cried for himself, for her, for Stefan, for his father, for the events that had followed after that faithful first meeting with her, Katherine.

It was her fault that he was now sitting here crying. Damon didn't cry. Crying was showing weakness and Damon wasn't weak. Yet he cried, he let the tears flow freely, he let down the walls that he had spent all his existence building. He relished in this weakness, sub-consciously enjoying the feeling of letting it all go.

It was her who had manipulated him and Stefan. She had treated them as puppets, toyed with them and then thrown them aside. She had lied from the beginning, seducing them with her lustful looks, compelling them with her eyes. Damon began to wonder if she had ever compelled him. She had denied it when he asked, but now, with his trust broken, he began to wonder if his love for her had ever been real.

It was because of her that he and Stefan had become monsters. Her fault that Stefan had killed their father and her fault that Damon had made it his mission to make Stefan's existence a nightmare. Damon found himself reliving every memory, every moment he had spent with Katherine, in his mind. He saw himself chasing her as she ran through their yard with his football in her hands, Stefan just behind them. He saw the first time had slept with her, the first time he had seen her for what she really was. The first time she drank from him. He relived the night she had shown him how she hunted, the night he had tasted another man's blood from her lips. His mind showing him every lie as plain as the eye could see. He had been a fool.

Suddenly he felt a strong emotion cursing through him, the harsh pain in his chest now gone. As he pictured her face in his mind, the emotion grew stronger and stronger, until he began to shake. The love he had held in his heart for her was now replaced by an extreme loathing. He found himself holding malice against the one whom he had suffered and given everything for, the one whom he had vowed to save from the spellbound tomb. He made a new vow to her tonight.

If Damon ever saw Katherine again, he would destroy her.
