Be strong, be hard
The Chiavarone Decimo drummed his long fingers restlessly on the polished, black desk. He often wondered why he ever agreed to get himself into this situation.
First of all, he never wanted to get involved in the Mafia.
Second of all, he never wanted to be the boss of the world's 3rd strongest Mafia family.
But then he realized, the longer he worked with his family, the more he cared for them, the more he loved them.
If I go living at ease…
He shrugged. Did he care anymore? Everything – from the way he walked, the way he slept, the way he dressed to the way he fought, the way he whipped and the way he loved… everything was for his family.
For family…
For family…
Everything he cared about was not circled around Chiavarone and Vongola. He found himself becoming a dedicated leader. That didn't stop him from wondering things though.
What would he have been doing at that moment if Reborn hadn't come into his life so many years ago? Would he be a professional horseback rider like he always wanted to be? Or would he be a doctor or a CEO of a big company like his parents wanted him to do?
It's probably a little different.
Yes, indeed. Of course it would have been different. Becoming a Mafia boss and a horseback rider – there was a major difference indeed.
Still, there was this one thing that bothered him. Just like Tsuna, he started as a no-good Dino – someone who was naïve, someone who couldn't fight or sacrifice anyone to get to his goal (not that he could do that now). He still didn't want to fight, but for his family, does he have a choice?
It's not like I wish for a fight.
Because there are people I need to protect, I'll become serious.
He knew he had to give is best effort. He knew he couldn't let his family down. He, all by himself (much to Reborn's secret satisfaction) had brought Chiavarone from a ruined family to a family that is feared by almost every other Mafia family.
Too many times, his loyal mafiso becomes speechless when they have something to talk to him about. He always smiles, nodding to them to go on.
No words are needed if there is resolution.
Even if I'm forsaken, even if there's something that confuses you, come follow me.
He tells them to be strong. That they can do a lot of things. That without them, he is nothing. That they will forever work together.
Be harder, be harder.
If I want to be stronger, for yourself, to myself, I'll seriously carry it on.
He can no longer bear it… every time he kills or seriously harms someone; the look on Tsuna's face was always heart breaking.
It's not like I refuse to fight. I just don't want to see my friend's sad face anymore.
He often recalled those days of Reborn's harsh trainings. He was strict and the trainings were painful. But he knew, in order to protect his beloved family, he had to go over it.
The pain and strictness too, I have to climb over it.
"Stay with me, my friends," Dino looked up at his Famiglia, feeling the tears claw up his throat.
To his surprise, Romario laughed a deep, hearty laugh.
And they all said in unison, "Boss, you are our boss, our brother, our father, our friend… why would we leave you?"
None of them really knew what happened and why their Boss has become so quiet, so forlorn. In their opinion, if their boss wasn't happy, it was their job to put that smile back on his face.
Hold it tightly with that strong will, that bond.
No words are needed if there is resolution.
The pain and strictness too, I have to climb over it.
Hold it tightly with that strong will, that bond.
A/N: So a failed attempt of writing about Dino. I seriously know almost close to nothing about him. But he's one of my favorite characters. He's so cool :D Oh well… hope you R&R!
