Hello there! I am starting a new story. Hope you hang in there with me!
Disclaimer: I don't own Young Justice or any of its characters. *Sigh*
Prologue
Annabelle Adams will never be your average girl.. She is a girl enveloped in darkness, never to escape. Since the beginning of her pathetic life, she's been disclosed from everyone only to know her foster 'parent' and the small rose garden she took care for.
It was rumored that the second her eyes shot open, she stared deep into her mother's soul which disintegrated her soul. Her father screamed out in terror and threw her into the nearest orphanage with one word. Murderer.
For the first seven years at the orphanage, a young Annabelle grew in solitude. Without any friends or foe, she lived alone just cowering in the corner. No one really approached her. Even if someone did, she'd send them away with a glare.
On her eight birthday, a man appeared saying he would adopt the lonely child. The nuns at the orphanage didn't trust him at first sight, but once he told them he would take Annabelle, they let her away reluctantly. This man, Ronald Liveg, was definitely not qualified to take in a child. He was someone people nowadays refer to as a 'mad scientist'.
The very first night Annabelle arrived, he started his little experiments on her. He had heard about this girl from a friend who worked in the hospital. Now, a girl with eyes that disintegrate souls? How could he not want to experiment on her.
Although he inserted thousands to millions of needles into her arm, not once did she cry. Not once did she ever mutter an 'ow'. She was just too fascinating. With a few mixtures of chemicals and a few injections, he turned her into a killing machine. A girl with the strength of Super Man, the speed of the Flash, the combat skills of Black Canary, and the archery skills of Green Arrow, she was unstoppable. Even for Dr. Liveg.
By the time she turned thirteen, he could no longer control her. The monster he created would not even respond to him.
Yes, she was a beast, but a beast with a dream. With the powers of the Justice League, she sought out to find a place there. On the night of March 13, 2010, Annabelle Adams escaped the Liveg lab.
(Annabelle's POV)
"Annabelle! Wake up!" the voice of Artemis slowly rang in my ears. "Oh my god, it's al-"
"What about your god?" Robin cut in.
"Shut up."
"I know you love me!" he laughed, slinging an arm around her shoulders.
"Um, no." Wally busted into the room with his incredible super speed and pushed Robin onto me.
"Get off."
With a kick, Robin ended up on the floor.
How nice it was to have a family.
