Running Away

You've run away from Skele-Gro when you fell off your broomstick.

You were afraid of the pain of re-growing all the bones in your right leg.

You were seven.

You've run away from Hugo and his box full of Acromantula.

You were afraid of the pain the pincers would cause.

You were eight.

You've run away from Teddy's Grandmum that Halloween you celebrated the Muggle way, she looked too much like Bellatrix Lestrange.

You were afraid that she'd use the Cruciatus Curse.

You were nine.

You've run away from Uncle George and his Wizard Wheezes.

You were afraid that your pranks were too much like Uncle Fred's, and that you'd bring back painful memories.

You were ten.

You've run away from a Hogwarts owl bearing a letter.

You were afraid of the expectations that would come hand-in-hand with being a child of two-thirds of the Golden Trio.

You were eleven.

You've run away from Duelling Club.

You were afraid that you'd make a fool of yourself.

You were twelve.

You've run away from the statue of the One-Eyed Witch.

You were afraid of the detentions you'd get for sneaking out of Hogwarts, just once.

You were thirteen.

You've run away from Scorpius Malfoy.

You were afraid of the ill will that would be sure to follow if the two of you went to the Yule Ball together.

You were fourteen.

You've run away from Hogsmeade on Valentine's Day.

You were afraid of the sorrow you'd feel if you saw Scorpius with another girl.

You were fifteen.

You've run away from the O.W.L results.

You were afraid that you'd get only Exceeds Expectations.

You were sixteen.

You're running away from Scorpius Malfoy, once again.

You are afraid that you'll get your heart broken.

You are seventeen.

You've run away from a lot of things in your life, but each time you learnt that the escape was pointless.

You discovered that re-growing your bones was no more painful than pulling out a tooth.

You discovered that the tiny Acromantula wouldn't bother you if you didnt bother them first.

You discovered that Teddy's Grandmum was the sweetest person on earth even if she did look like Bellatrix Lestrange.

...

You discovered that Uncle George smiled proudly each time you thought of a prank similar to Uncle Fred's.

You discovered that you could meet the expectations that came with being your parents' daughter, and that you could do more.

You discovered that Duelling Club brought out a side of you that you had never known- your hexes were almost as good as Uncle Harry's!

You discovered that sneaking of to Hogsmeade one time was perfectly okay, you'd just get off with a disapproving glare from McGonagall.

You discovered that no one really cared that you went to the Yule Ball with Scorpius Malfoy, they were all too busy having fun themselves.

You discovered that Scorpius didn't actually have a girlfriend; he was as alone as you were on Valentine's Day.

You discovered that getting Outstanding OWLs in all subjects, except Divination filled you with pride, who actually cares about Divination?

You decided, maybe this time you won't run away. Maybe you'll meet the challenge head on and maybe you'll be happy. Maybe Scorpius won't break your heart. Maybe then, you'll stop running away. For good…

Author's Note: Not one of my best, I know. But I thought I'd type this up anyway.

The second chapter of Rose Weasley: Hogwarts Head Girl went up yesterday; tell me what you think, please!

An Important Day will be updated soon, I promise.

In the meantime, what did you think of Running Away? I would really like to know!
