You and I Both by Jason Mraz

It had been two years of ups and downs. They'd broken up and made up, fought and laughed. This was the one thing they hadn't done, and neither would admit it, but they were both terrified. However, they knew it had to happen.

Rachel was going to New York soon, and Quinn would be in college in Boston. Although they wouldn't be that far from each other, both needed this memory to hold them together. They'd talked about it before, and both had done it with at least one other, but it just wasn't the same. Those times had been just for the act. This time, it was for them.

And all the torment and heartbreak disappeared, letting the lovemaking that truly lived up to its name, take its place.

Few words were spoken that night. This was unusual for the couple, but not even Rachel Berry's need to constantly speak was enough to defy the beauty in the quieter sounds. Sounds like their heavy breathing, and the rustling of sheets on the bed. Sounds like the moans and gasps that both girls let out against their wills.

If someone was to look in after sleep had reached the lovers, they would see two bodies against each other, blanket carelessly strewn across them, and hands intertwined.

Sure, they'd be further from each other than they'd ever been before, but emotionally, they'd always be just as close as they were right then, and just as in love.
