"The Long Journey"
As the morning sun rises just over the mountains of Blackthorn City. A young boy sits outside of the Blackthorn Gym watching the sun rise. A dratini lies asleep on his lap as the rays of light shine on the dragon's scales. A tired Clair walks out of the gym "Jason what are you doing? It's five o'clock in the morning." Jason turns his head and smiles "It's the big day mom. I finally get to start my journey with Dratini." Dratini woke up from hearing her name and rubs her head on Jason's chest "I'm sorry did I wake you?" said Jason. Clair yawns and smiles "That's right. You start your journey today. Going to try and train to be a gym leader like your mom?" she smiles teasing him. Jason laughs a bit "Cut that out mom. You know I want to be the greatest champion like Ash Ketchem." Clair laughs "Have I ever told you the story of Ash Ketchem when he came to my gym?" Jason sighs "Yes mom about a million times.." She looks at him and nods "Well then if you want to start you journey we better get you set. Come help your mom make breakfast." Jason nods "Ok mom."
The day goes on till around the twelve o'clock. Jason waits in the living room for Clair to come in with a present for him. Clair walks in with a small package and places it on the coffee table "It's a gift from the family. I hope you like it?" Jason's eyes widen with excitement as he opens the box. Inside lie two poke balls and under them is a pokegear set. "No way!" cries out Jason as he goes up to hug Clair. She smiles and hugs back "I knew you would like it. Now the Pokegear is from me and the two pokemon are from the dragon elder and Lance." She picks walks over and picks up the poke balls then hands them to Jason "Go on. Meet your new friends." Jason nods and tosses the poke balls in the air. They pop open and their stood a Larvitar with his chest sticking in pride and next to it flopping around on the floor is a Magikarp. "Uh…well the Larvitar is nice…but…" Clair pats Jason on the head "Don't worry if trained right a Magikarp can become a powerful ally in the end." Jason nods and returns the pokemon to their poke balls. "Oh I almost forgot." Clair hands Jason an envelope with a plane ticket and money. "This should be enough for you to start your journey as well as a plane ticket to Kanto. Last I heard Lance was over there so why not stop by and say hello." Jason nods and takes the tickets and puts it in his backpack. "Thanks mom I love you. See you next time." Jason puts his backpack on and races out the door. Clair rushes to the door and waves goodbye "Take care, be safe, and train hard!"
The flight from Johto to Kanto was really smooth. The day is still new and Jason walks down the road of a trainer to becoming a champion. Jason walks down the path on the hill when all of a sudden he accidently steps into a Sandshrew hole "Wha..Whaaa!" He trips and starts rolling down the hill and smacks into something. Jason gets up rubbing his head "Ouch..that really hurt…"said a voice from under him. There lies a man wearing a lab coat with ling brown hair. "Oh I'm sorry sir. Here let me help you up." Jason helps the man the up from the ground brushing the dirt off of his coat "Thank you young man." Jason smiles and nods "Again sorry for running over you Mr..?" The man smiles "The name is Prof. Gary Oak. I'm the pokemon professor down in Pallet Town."
