Standing far enough not to be detected, Drusilla watched as Spike approached Buffy, shot gun in hand. Silently she cheered for him to blow her head clean off her petite shoulders. She really didn't expect to see him sit down next to her and comfort her.

"Can't remember my name, can't remember at all
finding you from past times, i think...
how did we ever fall?
Never knowing the answers, calling myself names
now is not the question for us
will it ever be again"

Slowly, she felt a single tear slide down her pale cheek. She had lost him. The slayer 'would' pay. Yes, it had taken her some time to realize what she lost, but she never thought that in her absence this would happen. Backing slowly away, Dru left the two to make plans to destroy the slayer. She was going to do what neither Angelus or Spike could.

"Why don't you just fly, fly to me?
How long will you wait for me? never?
now or never again"

The next night, her plan was put forth. She wouldn't play the mind games Angelus did. She wouldn't mess around like Spike. She'd go straight for the kill. "Aim for the jugular", the moon whispered it to her. "No mercy for bad girls", the wind hummed. Drusilla had to admit, that watching Angelus take Buffy apart was quite amusing, but there was no time for that now. The slayer would die to tonight; and she would know the face of her killer.
Drusilla waited in the grave yard for her. She knew eventually she would come. The only set back was that Spike was with the slayer. "Nothing I can't handle." she thought to herself.
Holding up the tiny pistol she carried, Dru took aim, careful not to hit Spike. Narrowing her eyes, she pulled the trigger. Buffy never had a chance, the bullet struck her right through the heart. Gasping the slayer fell to the ground. Leaving a startled Spike standing there.
Moving from the shadows, Drusilla eyed the dying body of Buffy coldly.
"Drusilla....", she faintly heard Spike say. But she was to involved at the moment to care much. Looking down, she met eyes with the slayer.
"Good-bye Slayer." she said simply and turned to look at Spike. "Why a slayer?"

"feel me inside you, how you quiver and shake
can i rake you back to my life?
will you trust me again? now or never...
I'll never let you down, so fly to me!"

"What...?" he responded confused. More shocked by his lost love's presence than the death of the slayer.
"A slayer over me." Drusilla replied, hurt echoing in her voice.
"But you were..." Spike said trailing off. Slowly, leaning down, Drusilla took the stake from Buffy's clenched fist and held the tip to her heart."no....." he said, reaching out to stop her, but she stepped away from his grasp. "please don't......"
Shaking her head sadly, Dru whispered to Spike, "I'm sorry Spike......I love you....." and with that, she thrust the stake into her dead heart, gasping slightly as she turned to dust.
The expression on her face, would be forever imprinted into William the Bloody's memory. If only he could have talked to her before she had done that. Explained that he wasn't with the slayer. Maybe things would have been different. But it was too late now.

why don't you just fly, fly to me?
