Hey folks, this is a sort of teaser for an idea of mine that I recently had and really appealed to me. It also happens to make things a lot easier for me when it comes to writing. Tell me what you think.

"The Vytal Tournament… This will make things harder and easier than they would have to be." The first voice had a light accent; Spanish maybe.

"Agreed. With all the new arrivals and the hype of the tournament, we might not stand out but it will also be harder to spot what we're looking for." The second voice was firm, clearly showing that the owner was used to being listened to and obeyed.

"So, we dig. We poke around; ask the right sort of questions to the wrong sort of people, if you catch my drift." This voice was laid back, casual.

"What do we do when we find whatever it is we're chasing?" This voice was female and quiet.

"We await further orders if there's no emergency." That second voice again.

"And if there is an emergency?" Third voice.

"We… act on our own discretion."

"Sounds like fun." The first voice again.

The sound of a chair scraping back as someone stands. Second voice. "Pack your shit, everyone. We're leaving tomorrow."

"Understood."

"Roger."

"Okay."

In the years following the Colour War, as the world laboured to rebuild itself, the Grimm became an increasingly dangerous problem. However they were not the only issues faced by the fledgling nations; families had lost much, orphans filled the streets, the homeless clustered on every corner. Those that saw no hope sought an end to their pain or turned to petty crime. Nobody was capable of providing for all of those people. Until it appeared.

It was a message, a few words on paper or board, nothing special. But those boards and papers appeared everywhere. The homeless found them in their meagre belongings, government officials found them slipped in with other documents and orphans found them pasted over every wall. The message was different for everyone but there were two general themes, one for those with nothing and one for those struggling to rebuild.

For the officials and the leaders the message offered a way to solve the crisis posed by the unemployed, the homeless and the rising wave of crime as well as alleviate the Grimm threat.

For the homeless and the orphans the message offered food, sanctuary and a chance to do something truly meaningful.

The messages were signed with no name, only a title.

The Shadowman.

That's all for now. If folks are interested I'll continue. If not, I may continue anyway but showing support means I get to it faster, so yeah.

Ciao,
