My Adventures

Marley was laying on his bed after another long boring day of school with people he hated, he had his headphones on and was listening to his favourite music trying to unwind. As he lay there he started to think about how his life would be much better if he could live in a fantasy video game world, like the ones he adored playing. He was a regular nerd with a capital N. He played World of Warcraft, Warhammer both Fantasy and 40K, and had been playing playing Pokemon for as long as he could remember. These games where a way for him to escape from his dull and boring life full of annoying people and he often though about such things.

He sat up on his bed and looked down at his school bag thinking for what seemed like an age, he leaned down and picked it up unzipping it he pulled out a huge tome. It was sitting on a high shelf in his school library when he had found it, the book was covered in dark brown leather with gold writing on the front in some language that definitely wasn't English but seemed to be a very old version of Latin. He only knew a few words of Latin but he could recognise the formation of Latin words. At first he had thought the book be fake as about 75% of the girls at his school, but when he had opened the book and looked through a few paged he found it to be real. He believed that the book was real and not something created by some idiot at his school for a prank, As no one at his school could create anything this authentic looking. He didn't believe that anything inside was real, it looked like some ancient book from when people believed in magic from the scribblings inside that he had managed to translate. He was a boy of science and he didn't believe in magic or any bullshit like that.

After about an hour of looking through the book he had concluded that the book was someone's research notes from the headings every 40 or so pages that read alternate worlds travel and then underneath it numbered the attempt and if it was a success or failure. Then underneath that it would explain how to go about setting up the experiment, after reading about three failed attempts he decided to skip through most of the book until he found an experiment that said success.
