Amy pulled her light blue dress over her head, adjusting it slightly over her newly acquired motherly figure. She sighed lightly at the sight of her growing baby bump, sliding her hands over it. She tilted her head, staring into the mirror at her stomach. She spent minutes day dreaming of what her child would look like when it was time for him or her to enter the world. A knock on her bedroom door snapped her out of it.
"Amy, Ben is here to take you to school," her younger sister Ashley called to her. Amy frowned at her reflection, internally chastising herself for running late. She picked up her red cardigan and her book bag, and headed to the kitchen to tell her mother goodbye.
"Amy. You're leaving already? Did you even get a chance to eat something? You are eating for two now, you know..." Her mother rambled, sipping on her morning cup of coffee. Amy gave her a slight smile.
"I know, Mom. I'll ask Ben if he can run through somewhere on our way to school. I'm sure he won't mind." She kissed her mother on the cheek, and threw open the front door. Waiting in her drive-way was Ben. Her loving boyfriend, who was waving excitedly to her, while holding up a bouquet of roses.
"Good morning, beautiful." He exclaimed, opening the door for her. Amy's cheeks flushed red, and her heart jumped out of her chest. She couldn't resist the smile that crept across her face, or the strong feelings of love that flooded her heart.
"You didn't have to do this!" Amy gushed, throwing her arms around him. Ben held her closely, kissing her neck.
"I know, but I wanted to. I love you Amy Jergens. You're the love of my life, and you deserve this. You deserve everything." Tears filled Amy's eyes at Ben's sweet words. She buried her face in his shoulder.
"I love you so much, Ben." He lifted her chin up so he could see her in all her beauty, and upon noticing the tears falling down his loves rosy cheeks, his heart broke. He was madly, truly, deeply, and irrevocably in love with Amy.
He brushed her tears away with a hundred kisses, leaving Amy to giggle in delight. Finally, when she had collected herself, Ben led her into the vehicle. He slid in after her. To Amy's surprise, Ben had a box of her favorite doughnuts and a carton of ice-cold chocolate milk waiting for her.
She began to protest at him going through all this trouble so early in the morning, but he quieted her by plucking a perfectly made pastry from the box, and setting it into her lap. Once again, her exuberant hormones caused fresh tears to fall as she gazed into Ben's eyes.
"What on Earth did I do to deserve you?" She pondered aloud. He caressed her cheek with a slight smile playing at his lips.
"You exist." He answered. A tiny sob escaped Amy, and she lay her head on Ben's shoulder.
"I love you so much, Ben." He kissed the top of her head, and signaled for the driver to begin the short trek to the high school.
"I love you both more than you could ever imagine." He returned. She looked up at him, eyes full of admiration, and she kissed him deeply and passionately.
