Angelic encounter

The pink petal from the sakura tree floated down slowly from the flower to a sleeping boy's lap. The said boy was sleeping too deeply to be aroused by such a delicate petal. A girl not too far away who was hiding behind a pillar gazed at him. How the way his light golden curls sway in the gentle winds when it blew past, how they framed his beautifully pale, sculpture face. The manner he sighed softly to the flowers that always seemed to surround him when he slept, as if to protect him from any approaching enemy. He was truly an angel in her eyes.

Slowly but with elegance and grace she could never hope to have, he woke up from his slumber. Covering his mouth while yawning, such politeness she had wished to acquire but never to possess.

"Fuyuumi-san?"

How wonderful he had made her name sound with such amazing voice, it just took her breath away. If only he could repeat it once more, how delightfully would it be.

"Do you want to hear me play my cello?"

Of course she would gladly. She nodded her head mutely. His music was so magical it could mesmerize anyone that was nearby. As the strong mellow melody flow out of the finely crafted cello, she felt so drawn by it that she had to sit beside him to hear him play more carefully. She closed her eyes only to feel herself surrounded by trees. The glowing lights of fireflies danced around her making her feel so simply contented and at ease. It was like being in an enchanted forest. Everything disappeared when he stopped.

He placed the cello back into its case, stood up and was ready to go off.

"See you tomorrow Fuyuumi-san."

She couldn't let him go just yet. She needed to hear the music being played again once more. She opened her mouth and tried to ask him yet she felt that her throat turning unexpectedly dry.

"Could…could you play that piece one more time?"

He turned around, stunned by that simple question. He smiled. Laying his precious instrument back on to the freshly mown grass, he began to play once more. She felt herself lighted up with the same joy and closed her eyes again to appreciate the sweet sounding sound. Her lips had already curled upwards unknowingly. The place started to sparkle. There were only two of them in this paradise; no one else could ever intrude on.
