Pow Hammer
A one-shot.
As she unleashed her technique for the first time, listening to the strange squeaking and looking at the rubber-red instrument, she blinked a little in surprise. Some quiet laughter caught her attention as she turned to the source, a young man her age.
"I'm sorry…" He said between laughs.
She smiled and turned a little pink. "Is it that bad?"
He shook his head. "N-no…" He then broke into another fit of laughter.
She blinked, not understanding why it was so funny. Then she smiled again. A gentle smile that one would never guess hid so many things.
He laughed a little more, remembering her serious face upon delivering the attack to a monster. And that it killed the monster somehow made it funnier. When he stopped laughing, he looked at the girl and smiled. "It's a great attack."
She smiled back. "Thanks."
He nodded and looked at the others, who were walking off, leaving them behind. "Ah, we better hurry, or he'll make me train for an extra two hours." He said, talking about his new mentor.
She nodded, still smiling. "Okay." She said as they walked together.
She hid the motive behind the smile.
I'm sorry. I want to make you smile or laugh. Because someday soon, I'm going to make you sad. I'm sorry.
