AN:/ A lil puckentine fic idea I thought of before sleeping. /

Sam had insomnia. It wasn't anything to be worried about, as she knew the reason behind it.

Cat Valentine. A dainty redheaded girl who kept her awake at night, thoughts of her running in an endless cycle.

As she tossed and turned hoping to find comfort at last, she heard a faint gasp.

Cat was awake. "Ugh." She clasped her forehead with her hand. 'Im sick of this reoccuring nightmare', she thought.
Tears began skating down her cheeks and before long she began to sniffle.

This alerted Sam; it was almost like an alarm: 'Cat is upset, run to her.'

She climbed out of bed and approached the redhead. She sat on the edge of Cat's bed and placed her hand on a lonely arm.

"Cat, what's wrong?" She massaged her fingers into Cat's arm.

"I- had a nightmare- they were taking my N-nonna again", the redhead stuttered.

"Hey, hey. Don't cry", Sam wiped the tears from Cat's cheeks.
Cat looked at her with those sparkling brown eyes, which were even more sparkly than usual due to the watershed.
They screamed 'Do something Sam. Make it better'.

Sam lifted her index finger. "Boop", she said whilst touching the girl's nose. Cat giggled. "It's a nice nose. It shouldn't sniffle so much", Sam replied.

In response, Cat's face lit up. "Oh Sam.. You always make everything better".

"Glad to hear it, kid", the blonde beamed. She slowly got up from the pink bed and approached her own.

She was stopped of course, by a lonely hand clasped to her arm.
"What's wrong?" Sam asked.

"Stay, please."

Sam turned around in defeat, sighed and climbed into the redhead's bed.
She lay facing the dainty girl, who suddenly moved her head into the crook of Sam's neck, and wrapped her arms around the blonde's waist. She sighed with content. Sam felt warm breath on the surface of her neck.
"You're breathing on my neck again".

"Boo hoo", the redhead replied sarcastically.
"Ugh. Good night, Cat", Sam grumbled.

"Good night, Sam".
The redhead smiled. Every time she did, the blonde felt it on her skin. She too, began smiling.

"Dice!"
The curly haired boy burst through their apartment.
"Did you get it?

"Of course I did, Sam".

"Get what?" A redhead chirped in.
"Somethin' " A blonde replied.

Later in the evening.

"Hey Cat, open this before we sleep", Sam said smugly.

"Ooh yay, something!"
The redhead tore into the package.
"I love it! …. What is it?"

The blonde laughed. "It's a dreamcatcher. It catches your nightmares".

"Yay! Thank you Sam", Cat said whilst pouncing on the girl.
"Not a hug-"
"Well, you were last night".
Sam responded with a grimace.

Cat hung the pink dreamcatcher above her bed whilst Sam climbed into her own bed. Cat followed Sam and sat on the edge of the bed.
"I like my dreamcatcher. But I know of a better one", she said.
"What's that?" Sam replied.
"You", Cat smiled.
"Cat… I'm not sleeping with you every night", Sam blushed.
Cat pouted.
"Okay, some nights".

Cat pulled on the blonde's arm and before long Sam found herself snuggled up to the redhead in her colourful bed.. again.
