As Spider-man I look from the skies above

Yet as a normal person I do what I love.

Every day I do teach my class

But it's constant that Alison is always last.

More than not she comes after the bell;

Even when on time she looks to have gone through hell.

Her bruises always peek from out her sleeves, hiding behind books.

I know, I used the same tricks to distract from beaten looks.

I remember once she came with a black eye,

But confronting her I heard the PA did cry,

"Mr. Parker, your assistance is needed in Room 2-10.

Ms. Folley is in a meeting 'til lunch, but may be back by then."

So, my young student continued her studies of which others did shun

And I was left thinking of what may hurt her – a boyfriend for one.

Was Alison being abused? No, that couldn't be the case.

A man couldn't turn every morning into a race.

I watched the clock glide idly by,

But with the bell on my feet I did fly.

Everyone else enjoyed their chips and their Sprite,

But I climbed to the roof and changed into my tights.

I wasn't sure what to do; there wasn't a thought in my mind

That didn't include the young girl I left behind.

As I pondered this more and more I thought

It couldn't be so, thinking to evil I fought.

After stopping a robbery and a mugger or two

I webbed down to the park and noticed the girl who

Was keeping secrets; I knew what it was somehow,

So I swung down to Alison giving a slight bow.

I planned to ask her of her injuries this day

But before I hit ground I saw she ran away.

The ground did shake and a growl was heard

So I sprang into action and was sure to have lured

A monster into my webs, which stopped him for a moment.

Still, he broke through and slithered down a sewer's vent.

I didn't know where the monster came from; it's hard to keep track.

As a plan, I crept real close and clung to its back.

But, before the attack there was quite a sight to my eyes:

A girl in a cape, leather, and blue hair - - a wig, I'd surmise.

She shot blue bolts from her hands and took a tail to the face.

She summoned "her pets", power crystals in the place.

The new girl shocked the monster and SHIELD carried him off.

She noticed me, trying to be discreet of battle wounds and a cough.

"Hi," she said, rubbing her bruises. "I go by PowerStrike.

I'm really a big fan, would've said sooner had you been in the light."

"You're hurt." I told her. "A new hero like you ought to get that checked out."

"Oh, it's no worry. After all, to go to school I have to be up and about."

PowerStrike cringed slightly as she let out her slip

And flew away, still on an adrenaline trip.

So, before lunch ended I decided to swing off after this find;

I couldn't help but whisper what came to my mind.

"Go ahead Alison, fly off to your next class.

If you hurry, you may not be last."
