You Set It On Fire
Harley dived out of the window of a fifty story building, fire exploding to life behind her. The building blazed with flames as she free-fell to the concrete below, a grin was on her painted face and she closed her eyes in bliss.
Through the shattering and roaring of the heated building next to her, she could hear the battering sound of a helicopter. She opened her eyes and grabbed onto a rope that was suddenly hanging in front of her. Her falling weight tugged at it as she held on, but the rope stayed firm. She swung around on the rope, laughing up at the helicopter it was attached to.
Joker was hanging out of the open cargo door on the side of the aircraft, grinning down at her. The orange glow of the torched building lit up his white face and flying green hair. He turned behind him to one of their henchmen, who cranked the wheel that reeled up the rope.
Harley wrapped her legs around the rope and threw her torso back, laughing and swinging in the smoky air. The rope shortened, being pulled up steadily, and soon she was only a couple feet from Joker. He kneeled down, holding himself in the helicopter by gripping a pole attached to it.
"Having fun, darling?" he remarked, seeing her glance back at the inferno they were leaving behind.
"Tremendously!" She yelled into the night, still swinging on the rope as if she were a little kid on the playground tire-swing.
He smiled and held out his gloved hand to her. She gripped his arm and he yanked her up into the helicopter. She snuggled into his solid chest for a short second, knowing he hated it when she showed affection to him in front of his henchmen. Then she slipped away from him and leaned into the pilot's chair, seeing what was ahead of them.
The henchman at the wheel called up to her above the noise of the machine. "Batman won't be far behind, what's your orders?"
"Head to the ocean, if a Bat can't fly, hopefully he can swim!" She snarled mischievously, putting her head inches from his so he could hear. He smiled and she danced back to Joker, who was keeping an eye in the sky.
Harley went to the very back of the helicopter, digging through the big wooden boxes of weapons. She found a nice sized tommy gun and loaded it up skillfully. With a twirl, she propped it against her feminine shoulder and beamed up into the moonlight, ready to go bat-hunting. She kept her eyes peeled for any sign of a shadow.
She felt Joker staring at her. She half turned to glance at him, still hanging out the door. "You excited, puddin'?"
He came over to her and slid his arms around her waist, not saying anything. She shivered with a giggle as he breathed into the back of her neck, smelling the crisp smoky scent that she was soaked with.
"Buildings aren't the only thing you set on fire…harlequin…" He purred, turning her around and resting his charming gaze on her bright blue eyes.
She smiled dreamily up at him and thought about kissing his beautiful scars. He beat her to it. Joker pressed his lips to hers, a little roughly. He swallowed up her love, rhythmically massaging his mouth against hers.
She entwined her fingers up through his hair as he gripped her shoulders tightly. She slid her hands to his jaw, gently stopping him from continuing when she saw a black cape flash by in the sky. Joker saw too, and he gave her a partially sad face.
She smiled reassuringly at him and touched her nose to his. Then he let her out of his hold and she moved closer to the side of the helicopter to get a better aim at the Bat. Joker smiled at his Harl. Sometimes… she just knew. She just understood him. So well.
