The World of Black and White
Chapter 1- escape
The Black Order was bustling with people either going to or coming from missions. Everyone was relaxed, hoping to find some rest before their next mission. Even in the tense situation, no one wanted to do more work than what was required.
In the basement on the Black Order lied dungeons where not many people would go. At the end of the long corridor was a metal door that had CROW member were guarding. It seemed like an empty room, not a sound leaving the room. If anyone listened carefully, they could hear the soft breathing of a boy at the back of the room. He had talismans on his left arm and bandages all over his torso and head. The boy could do nothing as he sat there in the corner, abandoned by the people he considered family.
The boy's white hair had turned gray from the dust in the air and his once lively silver eyes seemed dull and lifeless. The boy was Allen Walker.
How Allen managed to get into this situation was something that he had no power over. First, he had another individual in his mind named Neah Walker, who happened to be a Noah, enemy of exorcists. Another reason for his unfortunate state was an encounter between Alma Karma and Yuu Kanda. After their fight, Allen had asked the ark to take them to a place where no one could find them. He was sure that no one would be able to find them for a long time.
Fearing truth serum in his food, Allen had not eaten for days and he didn't plan on anytime soon. I'll never let them find them he thought to himself they deserve the freedom they have after all they went through. They'll never find about Neah as well. I don't want to lose the only friend I have left in the world. Friend… the world now seemed foreign to him. His so-called family had abandoned him and everyone he dared to have called friend now saw him as foe. Neah was the only friend he had now. The only one to understand the pain he was going through. They had long stopped the fight for control when Allen was imprisoned by the Black Order. Neah would never hurt Allen for Allen was Neah's white half and Neah was Allen's black half. They both made up one being and would always be together.
Allen, the Black Ark is near, in a few minutes we can leave this place and go somewhere where we won't get dragged into a pointless was or used as a weapon. Neah told Allen.
They had found out a way to leave the world and go to a different dimension through the black and white ark. If the gate both opened simultaneously, it would create a rift in time and space. Neah had found that he had some control over the black ark through his position as the musician. To think that it would come to that. Moving dimensions just to keep out of the black orders reach. Allen waited patiently for the ark to come close enough to leave. Suddenly the door to his cell opened and Link walked through holding a bowl of food it seemed. "I had chef Jerry cook this food. I had him make it so that even someone as cautious as you would eat it. Central had nothing to do with this so eat!"
Allen looked at the porridge and slightly smiled. Levellie, you shithead it said in big letters. Allen knew that central would not give him something like this unless they had nothing to do with the food. Allen took the bowl and started eating
Allen, it's almost here. Neah informed him. I'll have to take over your body for a few minutes to open both gates simultaneously. Ok Neah. Allen replied.
As Neah took over Allen's body, crown clown suddenly stopped him. We don't have time for this you stupid rock. We have to get out of here. The innocence fought against the Noah and Allen felt like he was drowning under the pressure of the two opposites fighting. Meanwhile, Link tried to get Allen to snap out of his trance and didn't notice anyone coming. As soon as Neah felt a presence at the door, he realized why crown clown was trying to stop him. At the door a cardinal stood and that was no ordinary cardinal. Link, who has been watching Allen, backs off, only to notice that the guards outside of the room have been knocked out, just before he notices the Cardinal's hand transforming as he talks about the Heart being worried about Allen. He tried to throw a talisman at Apocryphos only to have Apocryphos dodge it and attack him. Allen, who had been watching the events unfold reacted to seeing Link attacked and activated crown clown.
Allen, you have to open the white gate now, I'll try to open the black gate.
Before Allen could do anything, the cardinal suddenly stood right in front of him. Link looked surprised. Did the cardinal come to help Allen? Why would he help someone who is considered a traitor? "Don't worry, I'll heal him. Everyone is so worried about him. Especially… the heart." The cardinal's fingers turned into feather-like blades. Allen desperately tried to summon the ark, but he was very weak and tired. He started humming the 14th melody in his head and increased his concentration on summoning it. In his head, Neah was also trying to summon the black ark. The cardinal realized Allen was trying something and plunged his blade fingers in Allen's left arm. Allen, although in pain, didn't let his concentration slip. The cardinal put his finger blades deeper into Allen's innocence and Allen gasped. He felt as if his whole arm was on fire. The carinal pulled his blade fingers out of Allen's innocence and watched as blood started to flow out of Allen's arm. Allen's grasp on the ark started getting weaker and weaker.
Link, who had watched all this happen, threw a talisman at the cardinal and the cardinal easily dodged the talisman and appeared in front of Link in the blink of an eye. He grabbed the sides of Link's head and stared to alter the man's memories. As link tried to get the cardinal's hands off of him, Allen watched with wide eyes. I can't let Link die he thought as he activated crown clown. He shot crown belt at the cardinal, since his vision was still blurry, he didn't realize that crown belt had gone right through the cardinal's head. I killed him. I murdered someone. I didn't mean to...
Calm down Allen. You didn't kill him. he's not human and he won't die that easily. You probably couldn't kill him if you tried. Neah said, trying to calm Allen.
"to still be able to move now. You must possess truly amazing spiritual power. Love… fellowship…sadness…despair. There is no being that is more unevenly and deeply connected to innocence as you. You really grew up to become quite a beautiful exorcist… Allen" The cardinal said as he walked closer to Allen, crown belt still through his head.
Allen, we have to open the gate NOW. Neah exclaimed
Allen put all his thoughts to summon the ark. From the corner of his eyes, he could see the talismans on the wall falling. In front of Allen laid a single gate that seemed to pulsate and gave off bursts of energy. Seemed that both ark gates had become one and it looked unstable.
Neah, we did it. Allen thought. That we did, my white. Neah replied triumphantly. "I won't let you escape Allen Walker!" Apocryphos shouted. Allen, we have to go! Neah's voice seemed bounce off the wall. Allen thought his mind playing tricks on him. Neah was in Allen's head. There was no way he could hear Neah outside his head. Allen started to walk towards the gate. The cardinal tried to stop Allen, but his innocence started to glow. Apocryphos looked at Allen and stopped his attack. Allen's vision slowly went black and he went unconscious. Before his face had a meeting with the cold stone floor, someone grabbed him bridal-style and turned to Apocryphos and said, "Protector of the heart, you are no longer needed to protect it anymore." And with that, turned and went through the ark carrying Allen in his arms. He snapped his fingers and the ark gate shattered into hundreds of pieces. Allen Walker, the so-called traitor to the black order, had vanished from the world, never to be seen again.
Apocryphos
Apocryphos watched as the gate shattered. Allen Walker, holder of the heart of innocence, was now gone. He remembered he message the heart had given before Allen had passed out. Leave this boy alone for he has gone to through too much in this world, it told him. I will go with him to another world, so he can live in peace. My last orders to you are to help the exorcists defeat the Earl. Even though they have made my host go through so much pain, I don't wish for this world to be plunged into despair. Go help them in their quest and aid them in any way you can.
Apocryphos only took orders from the heart and now the heart was gone. He seethed with hatred towards the exorcists but to fulfil his masters wishes, he could not destroy them.
Apocryphos looked at Link, who had gone unconscious, picked his up and took him out of the cell. As he walked down the corridor, he sensed Levellie and his men coming. Apocryphos took on his true form and walked up to Levellie.
Levellie looked at the thing before him. It glowed white, had no eyes, a mouth and was carrying Link. "Who are you?" his voice held authority as he spoke. "Where is Walker and why do you have Howard Link?" Apocryphos looked at Levellie and signed. "Now is not the time or place to explain anything. If you want answers, you will have to wait." He sensed Levellie's anger rising. "If you attack me, you and you men will be dead before you can blink twice" he said, anger in his voice. This was enough to convince Levellie to stop and think. He sighed and asked, "What do you wish to do then?" Apocryphos looked at him clearly amused. "Take this human and tend to his wounds. Call all the exorcists and anyone else you want and bring them all to chief Komui's office.
"All exorcists repost to Komui's office at once" Levellie's voice rang over the intercom. Everyone looked surprised by this. "What does he want know?" Krory thought as he started walking.
When everyone had arrived in the office, Levellie looked to Apocryphos and he started to explain. "I am the protector of the heart. My job is to fulfil any wish the heart has and to protect in from anyone who dares to destroy it." At this, everyone looked at Lenali. "She is not the wielder of the heart. She was meant to be a decoy, so no one would find out the heart's location."
"So, who is the wielder of the heart?" Komui asked. "The true wielder of the heart?"
"Allen Walker"
Everyone looked surprised. "Well then. where is Walker right now?" Levellie asked?
"He left this world along with the heart and the Noah" the last word filled with hatred.
"Shouldn't all the other innocent stop working because the heart is no longer here"
Apocryphos looked at Komui. "The heart still exists. Not in this dimension anymore, but it does in another. That is why the other innocence hasn't stopped working."
"Who or what are you really and why did you not go with the heart?" Levellie asked, speaking for the first time during the whole conversation.
"I am a form of innocence and unlike other innocence, I am independent. I don't need a host and I have been guarding the heart for nearly 7000 years." He paused, letting the knowledge sink into the others. "The reason I didn't go with the heart was because it ordered me to stay and help you defeat the millennium Earl. You should consider yourselves lucky. I have not been alive for 7000 years just by luck. Without the heart, none of you stand a chance of defeating the Earl." He looked at Levellie "I was considering killing you and all those who caused the heart to leave but the heart told me to aid in defeating the Earl. So, until the Earl is defeated, you are safe…Unless you do something foolish again like the second or third exorcist experiments."
Back to Allen and Neah
Neah walked through the gate and looked down at his precious white. Allen had decided to accept him in his body and endured all the hardships after the order had found out about the 14th. Even after Allen had accepted him and Neah was in Allen's head for years, he could understand how the boy worked. His otherwise uncaring heart cared for Allen so much. Allen, a human, an exorcist, his enemy, had become the only person Neah could truly call family. Neah hated the order for what they had done to his white. They made his life so hard, but he still called them family. He still smiled for them and he risked his life for them. What did he get in return? He was called a traitor by the people he saved. He was tortured, and no one could truly say they trusted him. the grass at Neah's feet started dying and the tree closest to Neah exploded. He wasn't called the Noah of destruction for nothing. He finally looked around to see his surroundings. A forest. He thought. Of all the places to end up. Neah didn't care anymore. He was more concerned about Allen. He looked at Allen and saw the peaceful look on his face. He looked like an angel. Neah thought about it for a second and realized that his angel had been quite vengeful towards the order. Lavi and bookman were missing, two generals were dead, god knows the state Link is in after his encounter with Apocryphos, Kanda was dead or missing, the third exorcists were with the earl, the earl would be heading towards the black order because Neah had temporarily hijacked the black ark and prophecy of Allen being 'the destroyer of time' had been diched as they left the dimension. It was basically like saying "Here is your mess, deal with it!"
Neah smiled. The angel in his arms could be cruel and vengeful while being kind and caring. He was the perfect white and Neah was the perfect black for Allen.
Neah put Allen beside a tree and started tending to his wounds. First and foremost, he needed to get those talismans off Allen's left arm. He put a hand on the talisman and channeled dark matter in it, reducing the talisman to dust in the wind. He looked over Allen for any additional injuries and sighed in relief when he saw that Allen was OK. Allen mumbled something that suspiciously sounded like "Neah". Neah smiled and hugged Allen, feeling Allen's innocence turning cold from the contact. "don't worry, I would never harm Allen." He assured the innocence. The only one that cared for my precious white in the whole order had to be innocence. My complete opposite in power and my sworn enemy. Neah thought bitterly. He didn't hate crown clown because it was a part of Allen, the only thing keeping him alive. With that hole in Allen's heart, if the innocence left, Allen would no doubt die.
He laughed in the irony. Everyone had assumed that Lenali was the wielder of the heart but that had not been so. The real wielder of the heart was branded a traitor by the very people that offered him a home. The heart protected it's host no matter what happened. Replacing limbs, healing wounds and fractures. It would stay in that spot until the wounds or fractures healed.
Neah looked at Allen exhausted, sleeping face and decided that they both should rest. He saw a particularly wide tree. He sat down, the trunk of the tree to his back and Allen on his lap. He pulled Allen closer to him. he didn't sense any one or thing nearby and went to sleep.
It had almost been 5 minutes since Neah fell asleep. He sensed someone coming closer to him and quickly but gently he put Allen to the side and stood up. Whoever was coming was careful about where they stepped so no noise came. Unfortunately for them however, Neah was not an ordinary human. He sensed someone coming from the other side of the tree and quickly took and fight stance in front of the tree. He was even ready to release dark matter if necessary. He was ready to protect his white no matter what the cost.
In front of Neah was an old man tall and thin, with silver hair and beard so long that they could be tucked into his belt. He had a very long and crooked nose that looked as if it had been broken at least twice. He wore half-moon spectacles and a colorful array of robes, ranging from purple to bright orange. His eyes were a shocking blue and seemed to twinkle when the old man saw Neah.
"Don't move!" Neah said.
When Dumbledore sensed someone come in come through the barrier, he didn't expect it to be someone so young the boy looked about 16 or 17. His hair was a fiery crimson and his eyes were a bright gold. Albus thought it was a trick of the light when he saw the stranger with gray skin. However, he quickly realized it was not a trick. Though the boy's hair was spiky and all over the place, it did little to hide 7 cross shaped scars that were across his forehead. Even in the darkness of the forest, his golden eyes flashed dangerously as if he was a wild animal ready to attack.
"Peace, I will not harm you" the old man spoke as he felt the boy's eyes inspecting him carefully.
Neah did not expect an old man of all things to be in front of him. he kept his face straight, trying not to show his surprise. He looked at the old man. Even though he looked old, his eyed showed that he was confident and powerful.
The old man was wise and powerful and Neah knew it.
"My name is Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. I am the current headmaster of Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Might I ask what is your name?"
"My name is Neah. I don't believe in witchcraft or wizardry, but I would be willing to indulge you for now Mr. Dumbledore."
Dumbledore was surprised to say the least. The boy, Neah, who seemed like a wild animal before, was very polite in the way he spoke. He spoke as if he was from a noble family. This caught Albus's attention.
Albus inspected Neah. Suddenly, Neah moved a bit, almost like he was protecting something behind him. Not many would have noticed the slight movement, but Dumbledore realized.
"What is behind you that you protect unarmed?"
Neah cursed his carelessness before he heard Allen talk.
"N-Neah."
Neah forgot about Dumbledore and rushed to his white's side.
"I'm right here my precious Allen. We finally got away from the order. No more being used as weapons again or dragged into a pointless war, no more unnecessary deaths."
Allen hugged Neah like this was the last time. "Thank you, my shadow." And Neah looked at Allen's eyes, which no longer looked like dead gray and more like molten silver. The way they used to be before the order had betrayed him. He hugged Allen back. "How do you have your body?" Allen asked.
"I'm actually not that sure myself. I'm guessing the rip between time ad space separated our bodies"
Allen suddenly noticed someone else's presents. "Neah, who is that?"
Allen heard Neah's thoughts. How could I forget about that old man?!
Neah saw that Allen was blushing with embarrassment. Inwardly, he smiled.
"Allen, this is Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore. Dumbledore, this is Allen Walker."
Allen tried to get up but was very weak. He leaned against Neah for support as he looked up Albus. "Pleasure to meet you Mr. Dumbledore."
Albus was surprised. Allen and Neah were complete opposites of each other. Allen had pale skin, white hair, silver eyes and a bright red scar that looked like a reverse pentacle going from his forehead, over his left eye, all the way down to his chin.
Neah, on the other hand, had gray skin, 7 cross shaped scars on his forehead, golden eyes and dark, crimson-ish hair.
"You both seem tired. Could I invite you to return with me to Hogwarts? You could rest there and since there will be no students for the next two weeks, you won't have to worry about being with too many people."
Neah and Allen both narrowed their eyes and looked at him. After a few moments, Albus blinked and saw that he had been deemed worthy, for now at least.
It was Neah who spoke "Very well, Albus. We will trust you for now," Albus almost winced at how much hatred hate been put in that one word. "Until we find a reason not to." In that one sentence, Albus realized that they had both been very deeply betrayed and he realized that if he betrayed their trust, they would not hesitate to kill him.
"If you would fallow me and we shall be on our way."
He turned around and started walking towards the castle.
i might continue this story if i get at least one review in... lets say 1 week. i'll continue writing it but let see how far i get. i'll REALLY try not to leave this book at a cliff hanger but like i said, we'll see...
