"How are things with your girlfriend, Kudari?" Nobori asks as he presses the porcelain edge of his tea cup against his lips.
"Mm?" The white twin is thrown off a bit by the question; It came from nowhere and it's suddenness was worrying to him. Nonetheless, he smiles. "Great!"
Nobori's expression, on the other hand, only sinks more. "Really?" He asks with his voice just barely above a mumble.
He feels neglected- His brother had spent the week busy with his new girlfriend. He didn't care enough to remember her name and he hadn't really met her, but he still hates her. It's absurd, he knows, to feel the way he does about this and he bares a great amount of indignity because of it. Jealousy was a childish thing and he was far too old to be meddling in his brother's relationships.
"Brother?" Kudari murmurs that word as he leans over the table; Despite his bleak voice, he's holding that smile steady on his lips. Yet, his eyes are glazed dark with concern. "Look at me."
Nobori shakes his head, albeit he allows himself to be lifted by his chin easily. Slate-grey eyes meet slate-grey eyes and like an electrical wire, the brothers swear they can feel their emotions pulse and connect through one another.
"Brother..." Kudari continues on.
"No," Nobori insists, "That's not it."
Kudari knows he's lying. Nobori knows that he knows- He's thankful for that. He's thankful that his brother is able to read him with such ease and he would have written it off as more than a bit creepy if it wasn't so convenient for him. It saves him the embarrassment of vocalizing his feelings.
Kudari's generic smile morphs in to something kinder; Just a gentle grin. It causes colors of rouge to fill his cheeks.
Suddenly, Kudari laughs and leans back in to his chair.
"You know," He begins loudly, "It's actually not really working out!"
"Oh, really?" Nobori croaks as he feels something become caught in his throat- Quite possibly his heart.
"Yeah, I think I'll break it up with her tomorrow!" Kudari says this as if nothing had happened and it causes his brother's stomach to flutter.
He closes his eyes.
Thank you, Kudari.
