Standing at the entrance of Red Fountain High was a brunette with tan skin, jade eyes, red lips and a slender body. She wore a pleated black mini skirt with a white shirt, black tie, white socks and black shoes. On her back was a pink two strap bag with several compartments.
Standing nervously in front of the red painted three storey school the seventeen year old had in her hands a pink envelope with a letter inside of it.
As time slowly ticked by and school about to start, Flora Linepha waited till she pinpointed the guy she was waiting for. He had long blue hair, fair skin and blue eyes. The male wore the mandatory school uniform consisting of a white shirt, black pants and a matching colour tie and shoes. He carried a one strap, black school bag.
Her thoughts as the male came closer to her. 'This is my last chance to tell him how I feel. Hope Helia accepts my letter.'
The blue hair male placed his hands into his pockets while walking casually towards the school yard.
Flora felt her heart racing as Helia came closer towards her.
Once he reached her, instead of stopping Helia continued walking.
Flora felt like her legs gave way, knowing that the male didn't even acknowledge her.
Eventually she fell down and laid flat on the ground with the letter in one hand.
"Helia!" A male voice called out.
He stopped and turned around to see a guy with short brown hair, fair skin and brown eyes. He had on the same uniform as him and carried a black two strap bag.
The male jumped over Flora and ran to where Helia was. Catching his breath, the guy said. "I have a question. What did you get for question ten? I can't seem to work out the equation for that."
Helia looked down and saw Flora lying on the ground. Telling the male to hold on for a moment he went over to the brunette and kneeled down to ask. "Could it be you have nothing else better to do with your life?"
Flora couldn't find the words to answer. Not waiting for an answer the blue hair male stood up and left.
Other students started to gather around the brunette as she was still in shock.
Managing to get up, Flora ran into the auditorium. Sitting behind the bleachers, she began crying.
Minutes later two girls entered the auditorium. One had blonde hair while the other had curly brunette hair.
"Oh Flora!" Stella called out. "Where are you?"
Aisha who pinpointed the female, indicated behind the bleachers. "There she is."
They headed over to her before taking a seat on the floor. Stella sat on her left while Aisha took a seat on her right.
Stella said, rubbing the brunette's back. "Flora, I never thought you would do something like that. Why did you choose to give Helia a letter right before school starts?"
"I didn't think too much about it." Flora sighed, resting her head against one of the metal poles holding up the bleachers. "I have had a crush on him ever since I transferred here two years ago. I just saw him coming towards me and somehow the letter came out of my bag and appeared in my hands. So I…"
"You got laughed at and became the joke of the school." Aisha scolded her. "You should have thought it through."
Hearing the bell ring, they got up and began walking towards the door.
Stella held onto Flora's right hand. "Cheer up, Flo. I have been at this school longer and have never seen Helia with a girlfriend before. Maybe he is not interested in women."
Seconds later, a male with purple hair ran into the room and headed towards Flora, Stella and Aisha.
"Flora!" He yelled, grabbing a hold of her shoulders and shook her. "I heard you wrote a love letter to that nerd in Class A, Helia Knightly and got rejected."
"Thanks for bringing it up, Riven." Flora groaned, breaking free from his hold.
"Tell me why?" Riven held onto her once more. "Why do you like that nerd?"
"Riv, leave me alone. It was a mistake and I shouldn't have done it." Flora muttered, removing his hands from her shoulders. "I was stupid to think that the hottest guy in school would like me."
Without another word she left. Stella, Aisha and Riven followed her to class.
Evening came and the bell rang, signalling the end of school.
Flora walked out of the school yard with Stella and Aisha beside her. Riven walked behind them, listening to the conversation.
Stella mentioned, wrapping her hands around the brunette's right one. "Flora, have you moved into your new house as yet?"
"Yeah." She nodded with a displeased expression. "I don't like it though. My father being cheap used wood found by the river and some cheap materials to make the house."
"Flora, you shouldn't say that." Riven protested, placing his hands into his pockets. "Being cheap is a good thing."
"Not when it comes to everything." She muttered, stopping her tracks.
Stella, Aisha and Riven stopped as well and looked to see Helia walking out of school with the same guy that had asked him a question earlier.
Stella and Aisha stood in front of Flora, trying to hide her.
The male saw her and indicated. "Helia, isn't that the girl from this morning?"
"Let's go." Helia replied, walking away.
Riven becoming angry ran over to Helia.
Standing in front of him, the purple hair male said. "Helia, you have some nerve rejecting Flora. Just because she is in Class F you look down on her."
Helia not answering walked pass Riven.
Riven grabbed a hold of the blue hair male's arm. He stopped and turned around to face the male. "Leave me alone."
"No! Why did you reject Flora like that?" Riven yelled.
Helia removed his arm from Riven's hold. Stella, Aisha and Flora made their way over to the purple hair male and tried to hold him back from attacking Helia.
Helia brushed himself off before answering. "I hate stupid women."
Flora surprised by his answer, turned around in anger. She saw the male walking off with his friend.
At the Linepha Household
Flora entered the wooden two storey house wearing her school uniform. Closing the door, she looked around before saying. "Daddy, I am home."
"I'm in the kitchen." He called out.
Walking into the kitchen she saw a male well built with brown hair and moustache and face skin. He wore white pants with a blue and white shirt.
Looking at the boxes full of household items, Flora said. "Dad, you still haven't unpacked as yet. What have you been doing since morning?"
"Sleeping." He replied, opening one of many boxes in the room. "This is the first time in two years I have taken a day off from the restaurant. It's hard to be the owner and chef of a well known establishment."
"Well known?" She looked at him, with a questionable look. "We moved back to Magix two years ago and your restaurant opened a little after that."
"Okay, semi well known restaurant." He admitted, taking out some of the kitchen applications.
"I still say this house isn't safe." Flora confessed, looking at the wooden counters.
"What?!" Her father looked at her, surprised. "I made this house with my own two hands. It is the safest place in Magix."
"Are you sure about that?" Flora gently tapped the wooden counter beside her. It fell down immediately.
Codatorta brushed it off. "That's just one counter. This house is as strong as steel."
"More like weak as plastic." Flora muttered, softly. "I am going to my room to do homework."
"The boxes with your things in them are in the living room." Mr Linepha remained her.
"I remember." She sang, about to walk upstairs. 'Why do I get the feeling we won't be staying here long.'
A second later the house started to stake.
Codatorta ran into the living room. "What is that?"
"It's an earthquake." Flora replied, still feeling the earth shaking. "Let's get out of here."
"No need." Codatorta smirked. "This house is strong."
"Like a leaf, maybe." Flora grabbed his hand and ran out of the house with her father.
As soon as they left the building and reach on the road, the house collapsed.
"Seriously?" He yelled, falling to his knees. "My house."
The earthquake stopped. Flora looked around to see that their house was the only one that had fallen down.
Tapping her father's shoulder, she indicated. "Dad, you notice our house is the only one affected by the earthquake."
He looked around and saw that it was true. "How is that possible?" Looking at Flora, he saw her expression and sighed sadly. "Fine! I will admit it. If I hadn't used cheap materials then it wouldn't have happened."
"So what are we going to do now?" She sighed, looking to see persons coming out of their houses to look at what happened.
Getting up, Codatorta replied. "We can try and retrieve whatever isn't broken or damaged and sleep at a hotel tonight."
The Next Day
Flora walked towards her high school with Stella and Aisha beside her.
Aisha asked while holding tightly onto her brown bag pack. "So where are you staying now?"
"Dad and I are staying at a hotel." Flora said, folding her arms. "Tonight we will be moving to one of his old friend's house till our place is rebuilt."
"Everyone saw it on the news last night." Stella informed her as they turned a corner. "Riven called me last night when he couldn't get you and asked if your okay."
Flora rolled her eyes. "I saw the miss calls. He blew up my phone like twenty times and filled up my voicemail."
"You know Riven likes you a lot." Aisha gently nudged him. "He has been crushing on you for two years now."
"I know…" Flora groaned, wishing the male could get that she only saw him as a friend.
Reaching the school yard the three saw a large crowd gathered in front of the school.
"Wonder what's going on." Stella questioned, trying to see who was blocking the way.
Soon they heard Riven's voice been amplified by a bullhorn. "Everyone please donate before entering school. Flora Linepha's house was destroyed last night and she needs our help to rebuild it."
Flora groaned upon hearing that. Making her way through the crowd, she made it to the front to see Riven and his friends Anagan and Duman blocking the way. They had boxes with holes at the top of it.
"Riven!" Flora shouted, upset that he was broadcasting her business. "You and your lap dogs need to stop blocking the way and stop broadcasting my business."
"Flora, we are doing this for you." Riven protested, holding up the box. "Some people have donated already."
"You heard what I said." Flora put her foot down. "And give the people who donated back their money. I don't need it."
Anagan and Duman came out of the way and allowed the students to enter. They didn't want to be in Flora's line of fire.
"But Flora…" Riven spoke before seeing Helia about to walk into school with the other students. Walking over to him, he said. "Helia, donate now!"
"Why? I didn't cause the earthquake." He replied, stopping.
"Whatever, just donate!" Riven held up the box. "Flora needs the money."
"Fine." Helia dig through his pocket for some money. "I will donate."
As he took out the money, Flora stopped him. "I don't need help from the likes of you. I would rather die. You look down on people too much."
Helia smirked, putting the money back in his pocket. "Remember you said those words."
With that he walked away.
In The Night
In a white van Flora and her father drove up to two storey brick house. It was painted white and had a large front yard. It had space to park three vehicles and hold a spacious rose garden. At the back was an Olympic size swimming pool which was surrounded by well manicured grass. The back of the house also had several chairs and tables for persons to seat back and take in the view.
"Nice house." Flora admitted, admiring the place.
"Yes, my friend owns a gaming company." Codatorta told her, getting out of the van. "We met in high school and have been friends ever since. It's when I moved to Domino that we lost touch. He saw me on the news and called the TV station to get my number."
He then went over and rang the door bell. Someone from inside pressed the intercom button and asked. "Who is it?"
Recognising the male's voice, Codatorta said. "Saladin, it's me."
"Oh! Codatorta, I am coming." The male replied, ending their conversation.
Cordatorta turned to his daughter and mentioned. "My friend said that you and his son attend the same high school."
"I hope it isn't Helia." Flora whispered as she got out of the van.
"What was that, Flora?" Her father asked, checking the boxes at the back of the vehicle.
"It's nothing, Dad." Flora replied.
"Okay. It's a good thing majority of our clothes and pictures were saved." The male mentioned.
"Yeah." Flora agreed as one side of the steel gate opened. A short man with grey hair and fair skin came out. He wore white pants with a yellow shirt.
'Well he kinda looks like Helia.' Flora thought, observing the male. 'No way could he be Helia's father. He looks too old.'
Moments later a female with short blue hair, fair skin and blue eyes came out. She wore a light purple shirt with blue jeans.
"Saladin and Nebula." Flora's father called out. "I haven't seen you two in years."
"And whose fault is that?" Nebula joked, as her attention shifted to Flora. "This must be your daughter, Flora. It is so nice to meet you."
"It is nice to meet you too." Flora curtseyed.
"Such a lady." Nebula smile as the brunette stood up. "You and my son would make the perfect couple. I will go and call him."
Flora was about to protest but the blue hair lady had already left.
After greeting Saladin, Flora and her father began taking up the boxes from the van.
When Flora turned to head inside she saw Helia coming out with Nebula. She gasped, nearly dropping the box.
Helia stood before her wearing a grey sweatpants and a navy blue sweater.
"Helia!" The brunette gulped.
"I see you two have been acquainted already." The older lady cheered. "Helia go and help Cordatora and your father take in the boxes. Flora and I need to have girl talk."
She then took the box from Flora and handed it to Helia.
Taking the brunette's hand, Nebula escorted the female teen into the house.
