Disclaimer: I do not own anything from Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time in Storybrooke, Maine, the Snow Queen's spell was once again turning Marian into ice. The only way to save her was for her to cross the town line to where there was no magic, but she couldn't go alone. Roland and Robin Hood had to go with her across the line.

Robin knew he had to go with Marian and Roland out of Storybrooke, but it was a one way trip thanks to the Snow Queen. It killed him to leave Regina. He loved her, but Roland and Marian needed him. So he, Marian and Roland said their goodbyes, then crossed the town line.

6 weeks later

Marian and Roland are settling nicely in New York. Robin on the other hand was missing Regina terribly, but he was trying to put on a good face for his son. Marian could tell he was trying. However she knew his heart wasn't entirely in it. When he left Storybrooke part of him stayed there with Regina.

It was a nice day and Robin, Marian and Roland were walking in Central Park. Marian and Robin were strolling side by side while Roland skipped ahead, exploring a little noticed Robin seemed lost in thought. "You're thinking about her again, aren't you?" she asked him.

"Sorry." Robin said snapping out of it.

"You miss Regina." Marian stated.

"I'm fine." Robin replied

"I know you're trying, but your heart lead you to her and you couldn't follow it because you and Roland had to come hereto save me." Marian said sympathetically, stopping and turning to look at Robin.

Robin stopped too, but instead of looking at Marian he called to his son, "Roland!" As Roland turned away from the chipmunk with the big cheeks running from tree to tree and started coming back to his papa, Robin asked, "Do you want to see the cool animals at the aquarium?"

"Yes please," Roland answered excitedly as he reached his parents.

" Wonderful. I'll race you back to the bus stop," said Robin.

"Go!" Roland yelled over his shoulder as he took off towards the bus stop. Robin laughed as he took off after him.

"Careful!" Marian yelled as she followed them. She knew Robin was avoiding her whenever she brought up Storybrooke. He would never be able to settle in New York until he put Storybrooke behind him. Unfortunately she knew he wouldn't be able to do that because he was totally in love with Regina. He was with her out of obligation and if she could change that she would.

"I win," Roland exclaimed as he ran into the park bench by the bus stop.

"You sure did," Robin said smiling and picking up his son. "When did you get so fast?" Roland just giggled. Robin put him down on the bench and glanced down the street for the bus.

Marian walked up to Robin and Roland as the bus was driving up to the bus stop. "Robin we need to talk."

"It's time to get on the bus. We will have to talk later," responded Robin as the doors on the bus opened.

Marian sighed, took Roland's hand, and got on the bus followed by Robin. The driver closed the door behind them and drove on. The bus was crowded, Robin and Marian kept a hold of Roland's hands. For Marian and Robin the half hour bus ride felt like hours. They didn't like the bus much. Roland however loved the bus. There were different people all the time and it felt like only a few minutes before his parents took him off the bus.

Roland knew when they were getting close to the aquarium. The closer they got, the more excited he got. Unfortunately his excitement for the family outing couldn't mask the nagging feeling that something was wrong with his parents. He didn't know what it was and it worried him a little.

"What do you want to see first?" Marian asked Roland when they walked into Manhattan Aquariums.

"The turtles!" exclaimed Roland.

"Good choice little man," Robin said and they set off for the sea turtles.

Robin was watching Roland point at the turtles and both were smiling. Marian looked down the hall and thought she saw someone from Storybrooke. "Robin. Is that..."

"I think it's Mr. Gold. What's he doing in New York?" Robin said bewildered as he looked where Marian was looking. Then he looked at her said, "I'll be right back," and walked toward the man in a suit with a cane. "Mr. Gold?"

The man turned around, "Hello dearie."

"What are you doing here?"

"It's a long story," Mr. Gold said with a small hint of sadness in his eyes.

"Isn't there a spell on the town line making it impossible to go back?" Robin asked a tad confused.

"Nothing is impossible."

"You know how to break the spell?" Robin inquired with a flash of hope in his eyes.

"I might," Gold replied.

Robin looked back at Marian and their son who were watching some brightly coloured fish swim in lazy circles. He looked back to Mr. Gold, "I want to help."

"How are you going to help me and what about your family?" Gold asked as he glanced at Roland and Marian.

"I don't know. I'm pretty sure they will be okay, and if the spell on the town line is broken I can visit them from time to time. I have to set a better example for my son by living truthfully and follow my heart. Here, I'm living a lie, my heart lead me to Regina." Robin told him, "So if you help me follow my heart, what do you want in return?"

"Oh I don't know just yet," Mr. Gold responded, "you'll owe me a favour." He reached out his hand, "deal?"

"Deal." Robin agreed as they shook hands.
