Here's the first chapter but beware the sadness and drama. FYI i don't own any of the httyd charactrers, this is set in modern time ;) Got inspired from watching an anime but changed it a bit.
"It's a boy!"
There she could here the sweetest sound that came to the world, that came to her and her husband. Valka sat up from the hospital bed, even though she was tired out from the early child birth; all she wanted to do was see her baby. The nurse gently handed the crying bundle on Valka's arms, she looked down at her son's beauiful aurburn hair and emerald green eyes. Her husband Stoick was right beside her as she could see tears threaten to fall from the man's grey eyes. Even her father, Old Wrinkly was standing by the end of the bed as he smiled at the scene.
"What should we call him Val?" Stoick asked, never getting his eyes off his son. Valka took a moment to think until the baby all of a sudden hiccuped. HIC! They stared in silence before they giggled at the sweet sound until Valka answered in a soft voice. "Hiccup...His name will be Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third."
"Hiccup? Huh...Yeah that's a perfect name for our son, our little Hiccup," Stoick agreed, waiting for his wife to give him a moment to hold his child but she was too stubborn to let go of Hiccup. The baby continued to cry as Valka whispered as a single tear fell. "I'll be here to protect you Hiccup, don't worry, mommy will protect you."
Five Years Later...
"Hiccup...Hiccup..Come on it's time to wake up son, you want to be awake to say goodbye to daddy before he goes back to the army. Don't you?" Valka smiled as she gently tired to walk her son up, which worked as the small boy yawned as he rubbed his eyes asking. "Wah...What's for breakfast?"
"Hmmm, I wonder what it be?" Valka amused as she pretended to think about it until Hiccup's eyes lit up as he answered in delight. "I know! You're making soft boiled eggs mommy!"
"Uh.." Valka stared at her son in surprise since that was exactly what she was planning to make, but she smiled down at him and cheered. "That's right Hiccup!" The little boy got dressed and then headed towards the dinning table, where his father was already in his army uniform while drinking a cup of coffee until he spotted his son. "Good morning Hiccup, how'd you sleep?"
"Great!" Hiccup smiled as he ran around his father,s chair while he pretended to fly as he explained his dream. "I was dreaming that I was in the sky flying as fast as an airplane on top of a dragon! Daddy do you think that'll really happen?" Stoick chuckled as he lifted his son up and spun him around the room to make it seem like the boy was flying. "I'm not sure about the dragon part but I'm positive that you're going to be flying very soon. And when I come back, it's a flight to our family vacation!"
"And then you'll stay home forever and ever and never go back to the army!" Hiccup added, as his father sat the boy down on his chair as he ruffled the child's hair while smiling. "That's right."
Soon the small family was sitting down while eating their breakfast until Valka asked Stoick for another cup of coffee until Hiccup blurted out in an 'as a matter of fact' tone. "Actually mommy, daddy would rather have a cup pf tea right now." Both parents gasped as Valka questioned Stoick. "Is that true dear?"
"Well...Yeah," Stoick confessed, then turned to Hiccup. "How did you know that Hiccup, I don't recall saying anything."
"Huh, what are you talking about, you told me," Hiccup answered, then took a sip from his cup of warm milk so his father decided to drop the question. Once breakfast was done, the family was in front of the airports where Stoick was about to depart to the army. "I'll be back soon Valka, Hiccup," he promised as he hugged his wife and son, then turned to his father in law Old Wrinkly and his friend Gobber. "Watch over them will you?"
"Don't worry, we'll watch over them until you come back," Old Wrinkly assured, until Hiccup hugged his father's leg to tryto keep him from moving as he pouted. "I don't want you to go daddy, can't you stay?"
"I'm sorry son, I can't right now. I have a job but I'll be home before you know, with all limbs intact," Stoick promised as he pryed his son off his legs and lifted him up to an embrace. "I love you son, don't worry, I'll come home alive."
"Okay, I love you too daddy," Hiccup sniffled, and then smiled once he was placed by down as he waved to his father until he could no longer see the man in the crowd. "Come on son, I already told your teacher that you'll be late today, but you can't miss out on school." With that, Hiccup followed his mother out of the airport and off to school.

"Rock! Paper! Scissors! Shoes!"
Four tiny hands shoot out to the center to reveal three rocks and one paper, as Hoccup cheered while holding his winning hand. "I won!"
"Ahh man Hiccup you always win this game it's not fair," His friend Sven complained but Hiccup chuckled as he explained, "It's not unfair, it's how the game is! It's Rock, Papers, Scissors after all."
"Hiccup you're pretty good at this game arent't you," their teacher approached the group of friends as she smiled. "Let's play a round to see if you can bet this champion player."
"Okay!" Hiccup cheered, and they were off, one hand made scissors, amd the other made paper. The teacher pretended to feel shame while Hiccup exclaimed in joy, "I win!" Soon other kindergardeners surround the Haddock in amazement.
"How do you do that Hiccup?"
"You must be a very good guesser."
"You even bet teacher."
"What's your secret?"
Hiccup looked at everyone with confusion as he shrugged. "What are you talking about, you said what move you were going to make outloud." Now everyone looked at Hiccup in shock, but they figured that he was only being modest.

"Mommy! Look what Gobber gave me!" Hiccup appeared in the living room where his mother and grandfather were sitting as he showed off his new notebook.
"That's wonderful Hiccup, good old Gobber always goves you gifts," Valka complimented as Old Wrinkly added. "You're growing up so fast Hiccup." Suddenly Hiccup made his pouty face as he complained to his grandfather. "Can you stop calling me 'shorty' grandpa, I'm still growing you know." Both adults gasped in surprise, especially Old Wrinkly since that was in his thoughts!

"Hey have you guys started to think about girls?"
"No way, girls are way to dramatic."
"You said it John."
Hiccup looked at his friends in shock as he said. "That's not true you guys." Not even notcing the gasps from his friends he continued on. "John you have a crush on Hellan, Stven you like Catherin, and you Derick, you seem to have a crush on Hellan too."
"You have a crush on Hellan, John!?"
"N-no I don't, believe me Derick I swear!"
"Hiccup I don't have a crush on Catherin," Sven began but Hiccup added more detail. "Yes you do, you started to like her when she gave you half her sandwich at lunch." Soon a crowd of students surround them to hear the conversation, and Hiccup pointed to Catherin as he cheered, "You're in luck Sven! Catherin seems to like you too! You both like each other!"
"Shut up Hiccup, I don't like Catherin!" Sven shouted, until Catherin gasoed and began to cry and run off before he can even explain. Outraged, Sven pushed Hiccup aside as he shouted, "I hate you Hiccup, I don't want to hang out with you anymore!" Soon his other friends pushed him aside as they sneered, "We're not your friends aymore!"

"Hiccup a complusive liar?" Valka questioned the principal who called her over to the school for a confernce.
"Yes Mrs. Haddock, apparently Hiccup has been making things up."
"But that can't be, Hiccup is not the kind to lie," Valka began but the principal shook her head as she explained, "Many students have been hurt from his outbursts, and we have been getting numerous complaints from their parents."
"I see..."
The very next day, Valka took Hiccup to several doctors to see if they have any idea what is wrong with the child but each one was the same.
"Hm...What could it be.."
"Your son seems perefctly normal."
"Who are you to question my way of checking my patients!? How rude!"
"Nothing seems to be wrong."
The last hospital they went to just kicked them out, as Hiccup asked his mother. "Mommy? Am I sick?" All Valka could do was look at her son sadly and worriedly.

"Mommy.." Hiccup sniffled as tears poured down from his eyes when he returned from school. "N-no one wants to play with me...T-they t-told me that I'm a creepy boy who spits out lies.." Then he began to cry out loud as Valka recieved a phone call from the army, since she was trying to contact them for weeks now.
"Hello, yes I'm Valka Haddock. Look I need to speak with my husband Stoick Haddock right away, it's an emergency!" She requested until she gasped at the news she recieved. "W-What?! Missing in Action!? H-H-How could that be...No I need my husband right now, his son needs his father right now!"
"Mommy, is daddy gone too?" Hiccup cried, since he heard what his mother just said and soon began to cry even more.

Exhausted, tired, and upset, Valka decided to stop looking for doctors and just cope by staying up late while drinking alcohol and wine, while muttering to herself, "Uh...Why my son..Why him.? Stoick is missing...and Hiccup is...Uh.."
"Mommy?"
She looked up only to see her son dressed in pjs while holding his blanket and dragon toy she made as he quietly reassured her. "Don't worry...Daddy will come back soon, I just know it."
"SHUT UP!" Valka screamed harshly, "What do you know about stuff like that!? Whose fault do you think this is?!" She angrily threw her glass cup of alcohol at Hiccup before realizing what she had done. The cup broke, spilling the drink while Hiccup was shaking like a leaf as tears began to form on his two emerald green eyes. He never experienced his mother getting very furious with him and then break glass in front of him.

"Gobber! Did you get any news about daddy yet?" Hiccup asked hopefully as the man shook his head. "No I haven't."
"Hiccup, Gobber is going to look after you while I got out for bit okay," Valka explained as she folded the newspaper she read until Hiccup looked at both adults as he frowned, almost crying. "Gobber you're lying, you did get news about daddy, they didn't find him yet, in fact they are coming up with conclusions that he might be dead."
Gobber gasped, since the boy was right but he didn't have the courage to tell the family until Hiccup turned to his mother. "Hey mommy, you're going to this resturant with some guy you've met, but you're not inviting me, why?"
"Other guy?" Gobber muttered, then turned to Valka as he quesioned her. "Are you cheating on your own husband Valka! We don't even know if he's dead or not!"
"I have no idea what you're talking about!" Valka protested, before turning to Hiccup as she screamed at him in anger. "Hiccup? STOP LYING TO US! You're breaking this family apart!" "Do you want to destroy so badly!" "You damn brat!"
Hiccup looked up at his mother, tears threatened to fall while Gobber began to argue with Valka for her to not yell at the boy.
"Don't yell at him like that Val!"
"Oh well he's my son and I can yell at him when I want to!"
Hiccup just cried as the arguement grew louder and tenser.
End of the first chapter, so apparently at a young age, Hiccup didn't realize that he was reading people"s minds and confuses the thoughts with what the actually say. Please comment 😉
