"Why, why, WHY?" he yells as he stalks from one side of the room to the other, running one hand fiercely through his hair, glaring at the innocent books on their shelves.

"Well," she replies coolly, "perhaps because you chose to go this route rather than the proper one."

Whirling around, he glares at her with fire in his eyes, gritting his teeth as he spits out, "You know that this isn't what I wanted or expected."

Shrugging her shoulders, she says nonchalantly, the glare clearly not bothering her at all, "Clearly, but it is what you got nonetheless, and now you must deal with it."

"HOW?" he roars, face turning red with exertion from the volume achieved.

Snorting delicately, she replies, "Well, how should I know? It's your desired woman, not mine. You ought to know her better than I would."

"And how should I have known that she would run scared, back to that so-called 'Billy'?" Captain Hammer throws back at her.

"That isn't my problem." Standing up, she smoothes down her dress before saying to him calmly, but with finality, "You can either try to woo her back, or you can give up on what is clearly now a lost cause. If you had had a bit more self-control and focused just slightly more on her than yourself, you might have gotten to keep her, but you didn't and now you must accept the results of your decisions," before leaving the room, heels clicking faintly on the hardwood floors.

Face turning an ugly shade of puce, he begins walking towards the door, wanting to catch up with her so he can punch her in the face. He quickly realises how foolish this is though, despite being the great Captain Hammer, and instead turns and punches a wall, knowing she is right and he can do nothing about it.

After all, no one messes with Widowed Heart and her decrees without regretting their actions.
