Yes, I know, this is really short and not good at all for the damn long time of waiting, but here it is, and I hope the next few chapters will start to head up as I get more inspiration. R and R, and obviously, I don't own Hetalia, cause then it'd be dark and full of war... Anyways, hope you like, and please review!
He was screaming, screaming at the heavens at Mother Earth to let his twin come back. DC was beside him, sobbing into his arms, begging for his father to come back. "Please, dad! Please come back!"
Hawaii was standing there, eyes wide and looking shell shocked. Then her eyes starting tearing up, and red droplets of salty water welled up and tumbled over. Her bottom lip trembled, and she reached over gingerly touching the bedsheets. Gently rubbing the empty sheets, she called out, "Daddy? Daddy, where did you go? Daddy!?"
The world really wasn't fair, Matthew thought dazedly, staring at the empty bed in disbelief. He couldn't believe that he would never see his twin laugh, and say in his loud assuring voice, "Cause I'm the HERO!" He couldn't believe that he would never see his twin's bright and happy blue eyes, reassuring grins and happy claps on the back. To never be able to laugh or cry with him again, to see him, to boast that they were the New World twins, that they shared the longest unguarded border ever. Some people say that when one twin dies, the other sometimes follows. Canada knew he wasn't dying, but he sure felt the ache in his chest, the hollowness that constantly reminded him of the fact that Alfred was gone, never to come back again.
Taking a calming breath, he turned to gently pat DC on the back. "It's okay, DC, Alfred will always live in our hearts."
DC nodded, wiping his eyes on his sleeve, "Yeah." Turning to look at the once occupied bed, he said softly, "Don't worry, dad, I'll make you proud."
"Canada, who is this?" Germany asked, eyeing the boy who stood before the other countries. "He's not a human, is he?"
Canada shook his head, "No, of course he's not human."
"Then who is he?"
Canada glanced at the boy, who looked back at him and shrugged slightly. Canada nodded, "Allow me to introduce the new personification of the United States of America."
Everyone in the meeting room stopped, and stared. England raised an eyebrow, "Really? That's not particularly funny, since the former personification needs to die. Now, where is America?"
The boy said softly, "He's dead.."
England leaned forward, with an expression of disbelief and panic, "What? When? How? He seemed perfectly fine to me-"
"Because he was trying his best to not worry you. He didn't want to guilt you into helping him in the war," Canada said softly, eyes accusing.
Germany cleared his throat, "So, America, as tradition goes, the new personification of a country is allowed to form new alliances. What are your ideas?"
America blinked a few times, "I want to end the war with Russia and China. Since my economy is steadily rising, I will try my best to pay back the debt as soon as possible."
China smiled a sly grin, "I will trust you because you are new. This is your first chance. Use it well. If you can get the money to me in three months, then I will call off the war."
Russia looked slightly disappointed, but nodded, "Da, I will go along with that."
In America's office at the White House, Canada, America and Mexico were gathered. America grinned, and slid two regal pieces of paper towards the two nations who accepted it warily. Mexico read through it, eyebrows disappearing under his hairline. Canada seemed surprised as well. "A threeway alliance?"
America smirked, "I like to call it a coalition, but alliance is a better term for it."
"The New World Alliance?" Canada stared at America. "What is your point in doing this?"
"My point is to honour Dad's death. I will make America stronger than it has ever before. This is a tribute to him. I will not disappoint his last wish," America said, with a determination that none had seen since the Manifest Destiny.
Canada took one look at his nephew, and was slightly alarmed. America was strong, and the other nations knew it. The only reason why America had not gone dictatorial was the fact that Alfred was too much a hero to do anything that would harm anyone intentionally. But DC was not Alfred. And this time, Canada realized, the world will finally be shown the dark side of America. And this time, the world will not be able to stop him.
He looked up, met his nephew's eyes, and nodded, "Count me in."
Mexico reread the treaty, and also nodded, "This will help my country. I will do anything for my country, so count me in as well."
"Now, about the debt. How much money do you guys have?" America asked.
Mexico raised an eyebrow, "Do you expect much from me?"
Canada grinned, "I can pitch in some money. We all have to help each other now, no backstabbing anymore. We're the New World, not Europe or Asia."
America's face split into a grin, "Exactly."
At the next world meeting, America walked up to China, and handed him a briefcase, "The debt is now officially paid."
China's eyes went wide, "All of it? In one month? When Alfred couldn't do it in decades?"
America shrugged, a smirk on his face. "Well, Dad didn't have two other countries who pitched in."
"Two nations?" China's face turn nasty, "So you borrowed from someone else? How broke are they now?"
For a split second, America's face turned dark, but then he was smiling again. "There's no need for pointless accusations, China. They willingly gave the money to me, for other certain benefits."
"And who are these two nations?" China demanded.
America smiled a shark smile as Canada and Mexio appeared at his side. "Canada and Mexico were so very kind as to help me along," he elaborated.
China's eyes went wide, and he suspiciously scrutinized the trio, but huffed, carrying his money off.
"The meeting is starting!" Germany shouted, brows creased in frustration as the nations did not cease their chattering. Taking a deep breath, he roared, "EVERYONE SHUT UP! THE MEETING IS STARTING!"
America cleared his throat, raising his hand, and Germany looked over, blinked, then nodded, "Yes, America?"
"You see, I have paid back my debt to China. The thing is, two other nations helped me in doing it," America started.
England groaned, "You got into more debt, America?"
"No," he said, voice amiable, "Actually, I would like to announce the New World Alliance that includes Mexico, Canada and the United States of America."
