It's the middle of the night and a rainstorm is raging outside. All Levi wants is to sleep but appreantly his new infant daughter has other plans. He sits next to Hanji, who is somehow managing to sleep through it. Everytime the thunder cracks it seems to echo through the walls and make the little girl even more displeased.

Sleepily Levi holds her against his shoulder and tries walking around the room with her. She squirms until he starts rubbing slow circles against her back. Alannah soothes to a soft whimper and Levi believes she has worn herself out. As soon as they try to lay her in her crib though she begins wailing again.

It is now that Hanji decides she should wake up. Half awake she takes the infant from him and sits in their bed. Curious Levi joins her there and watches Hanji adjust the girl in her arms and take a deep breath. Then she begins to sing which surprises him because he has never heard her do so before.

Dodo, l'enfant do,

L'enfant dormira bien vite

Dodo, l'enfant do

L'enfant dormira bientôt

Hanji's singing voice is warm rich sort of voice and it seems to have and instant effect. Alannah stops crying and looks at her mother. Levi wonders how many of these moments he has missed between expeditions and training. Hanji doesn't see the worry on his face though as she smiles and continues to sing.

Une poule blanche

Est là dans la grange

Qui va faire un petit coco

Pour l'enfant qui va fair' dodo

Alannah gurgles and reaches up for Hanji's face. She leans forward offering a small kiss to the infant's nose. Levi can't help but smile and let loose small sighing noise. It catches the infants attention. Removing one hand from her mother's face she reaches for her father. He gives her a finger to grip in her small palm.

Dodo, l'enfant do,

L'enfant dormira bien vite

Dodo, l'enfant do

L'enfant dormira bientôt

Hanji lays the infant between them as she resumes her lullaby. Alannah yawns but continues to grasp Levi's finger. Hanji lays down and rubs Alannah's belly soothingly and finishes her song.

Tout le monde est sage

Dans le voisinage

Il est l'heure d'aller dormir

Le sommeil va bientôt venir

Alannah drifts away into sleep laying between her parents. The storm has died down to a soft pitter patter of rain outside. Levi stares at his girls as they booth sleep peacefully. He pulls the blankets around them carefully, mindful of waking them, then dozes off himself.
