(A/N: Hey guys first chapter up and I tried to touch the fact that Annabeth didn't like her mother very much but I don't know exactly how I did. So if you could give me constructive criticism, that'd be great! Thanks!

I don't own any character in here. So please enjoy!)

Ice Cream

Percy Jackson sat eating his blueberry ice cream and happily laughing along with his mom, who was seated beside him. She also had a blueberry ice cream. She laughed as the five year old Percy got a huge glob of ice cream on his nose. She reached for a napkin to wipe it up and turned back to see his trying to lick it off. Since his tongue was not that long, it looked pretty funny. She ended up laughing enough to lean back and caused someone to trip over her and fall to the grass behind her. "Oh!" Sally Jackson exclaimed and hurried to help the young woman up from the ground. She noticed that she had a young girl with her around the same age as Percy. "I am so sorry. I wasn't watching what I was doing." Percy's mother apologized.

"No. no. I wasn't watching where I was going. This one wanted ice cream and wont stop complaining." The woman gestured towards the little curly blonde haired girl. Percy looked her up and down while she did the same. When he saw her eyes he couldn't stop himself from saying something.

"Wow. Your eyes are beautiful. I've never seen grey eyes before. Mommy look!" He tugged on his moms arm.

Sally bent lower so that she could see and said, "Yes, how pretty! Those are very unique." She turned back to the woman and said, "Let me cook dinner for you. Just to make it up to you. I feel so bad."

"No. Its okay you don't have to."

"No. Its no problem. I was going to whip something up for Percy, here, and I could get you two on the table as well." Sally said, while smiling widely at the idea of guests. She was divorced a few years back from Percy's step-dad, Gabe, because he was an abusive drunk. So all in all, she was lonely.

"Okay. If you insist. We will be there in two hours. Annabeth and I have to get ready. Come on baby." She said sweetly to Annabeth, who scowled and crossed her arms.

"No."

"Annabeth." The woman said sternly.

"No. I want ice cream."

"Well, you cant have ice cream. Come on."

"No."

Percy interrupted by thrusting his cup of blueberry ice cream toward the stubborn little five year old and said in his sweet little boy voice, "Here, you can have mine."

Annabeth looked at him stunned. She didn't really want it. He had dug his face in it anyway. But it was the thought that someone would actually give up their ice cream for her made her want to cry. She hasn't been treated this well in years. She gave Percy a huge hug with tears in her eye and took the ice cream. "Thank you, Percy." It was from that moment that she knew this was going to be a friendship that will last permanently.
