Prologue:

Lara's birth was kept a complete secret from most of the world. Calena had known that Solas would come after the child, but then again, maybe he wouldn't. He wanted to destroy the world. Would his child change his mind, or make a difference? There were spies in the inquisition. His spies, other enemies' spies, even spies from allies. Armor kept Calena's bump hidden. Servants no longer brought her food to her room, she ate in the great hall of Skyhold with everyone else, in full armor, or strategic clothing. Most people thought she was wearing the bigger clothing to appear larger, more commanding. But that effect was only an added side benefit.

A month before she was due Calena traveled North. She was in a small town in Starkhaven when the pains started. Their party had been traveling undercover of a small merchant caravan. Only trusted Cassandra, Varric, and Cole by her side. They had made the journey trying to look as unthreatening as possible. For two days Calena labored in that nameless town. Dorian had arrived from Minrathous hours after she had given birth, to a tiny, quiet, thick-haired baby girl. Varric had held the baby since its birth, Cassandra having been terrified of small infants, and none of them trusting Cole to remember to not vanish randomly. Calena said nothing as Varric handed off the small infant to Dorian. A day later, Dorian headed back up North, with the infant in tow, while in Inquisitor headed back south to Skyhold.

No hint, nor whisper would ever be uttered by those who knew of her existence and ties to the Inquisitor or Solas. The Tevinter Imperium would be shocked later that year when Dorian, the head of House Pavus announced he had adopted an Elven Infant, as his sole heir and apprentice, should the child develop magical abilities. The declaration was met with mixed reactions from the country, as many believed he had adopted the child due to his inability to ever father blood children, and disgust as he had chosen an elf, the lowest of classes in the Country.

Dorian had chosen the name Lara, with the hope that she would be as happy as her name.

The Inquisitor and Dorian cut contact that same year. The Inquisition and House Pavus, once steadfast allies became complete strangers.

Meanwhile in Weisshaupt. Hawke and Fenris had also recently added a small elf to their own family, a surprise that both welcomed, after nearly 10 years of believing children would be impossible due to Hawkes old stomach wound having damaged her womb, and Fenris's Lyrium exposure. They named their son Leto, Fenris wanting to give the name he was born into a new chance at a life he never had. They remained in Weisshaupt, doing what they could until Leto was Four years old, before returning to Kirkwall, no longer on the run, also Joined by Varric.

For nearly 16 years the world sat in a state of limbo. With the Inquisition, a universal Peace Keeping Army, ready to silence or reform countries in need of healing, no country in Thedas dared to step out of line.

A reluctant Peace formed as the world waited for someone or something to make a move.
