A/N This was inspired by the movie "Billy Jack" it is dedicated to the memory of Tom Laughlin born August 10, 1931 died December 12, 2013(who was "Billy Jack"). It is also dedicated in honor of his wife Delores Taylor Laughlin(who played Jean in the movie) and to the rock group Coven and their singer Jinx Dawson whose song "One Tin Soldier" was used in the movie "Billy Jack"

If my title confuses you don't worry. I know there are nothing about trumpets in this piece but the title has something to do with the song "One Tin Soldier" by Coven.

Disclaimer I make no profit off of anything related to Billy Jack the movie or the book or any merchandise related to Billy Jack. I also don't make any profit off of anything related to the rock group Coven or their song that was in the "Billy Jack" movie. Thank you. This was just done to quiet the thoughts in my head.

There Won't Be Any Trumpets Blowing

The galloping sounds could be heard near and far. They seemed to echo off the canyon walls and desert sand. They were running as though their lives depended on it. The devils themselves were after them and weren't giving up. The man in charge had one thing in mind and that was to have those wild horses.

His reasons weren't for good, for he was pure evil. His money and name were well known in those parts, if not the whole state. Normally he always got what he wanted. But there were some things he wouldn't get and some people.

One of those people was a man who was on his way to rescue the mustangs from their fate. His name was Billy Jack. He came up on the devils and their hostages almost like the air that blew across the horses' withers.

They sensed him before they saw him and knew they were in trouble. Trying to lie their way out of this one he wasn't their fool. He called everything just as he saw it and this time was no exception.

Their money meant nothing to him; he lived only to protect the wild horses, the Indians, the kids of the Freedom School, and Jean.

Nobody could understand why this war hero chose to seclude himself out away from society and turn his back on the greed and corruption the world offers.

His needs were simple he wasn't into the ego trips so many were and are. The teachings he was getting from the old Indian holy man were faring him well. Nobody could buy this man though some had probably tried.

The years have passed by most of the devils are gone. The ones still around often talk of the legend known as Billy Jack. His spirit continues to hover all around, overseeing the safety of those he loved and had to leave behind one cold December day.

One tin soldier may have rode away but in the hearts of many he lives to fight another day.

A/N My writing might not be the best to interest anyone in this movie but if you like a movie where one stands up for the ones who can't or won't protect themselves and against a huge force of evil, I think you'd like the message of this movie if you ever got a chance to see it. Yes there is violence in it but overall it's a very inspirational movie.
