A/N: Just a bit of faberry fluff here :) This is my first published fic so it'd be lovely if you read and review :) Sorry for any spelling/grammar errors, let me know if there are any :) Title from 'Flights and Skype' by Trey Songz. Enjoy! Sadly, I do not own Glee.
Quinn always hated computers. When she had bought her brand new PC for Yale it took her a good five minutes to learn how to turn it on. Now she was expected to download and figure out how to use some program called "Skype"? This was ridiculous. It was worth it, though. Rachel Berry was always worth it.
It had been a mere three weeks since Quinn had last seen Rachel. Quinn could hardly stand it, though. Quinn missed the smell of her hair after she had taken a shower; the taste of peppermint candy after a deep kiss. But what she missed the most though, was the ring of Rachel's angelic voice. Now if Quinn could just make the god damn program open up she might actually be able to hear it again.
Quinn sighed as she glanced over to her phone. Six new messages. Quinn wasn't very surprised to see that all of those texts were from Miss Rachel Barbara Berry herself. All of them collectively said the same thing.
"Why haven't you logged on yet? –Rach"
"Please tell me you actually know how to use a computer!? –Rach"
Quinn couldn't help but feel herself smile. She always thought it was cute how Rachel signed every single text message with "Rach". The happiness soon faded though. To be blunt, Quinn didn't know how this was going to work out. Long distance was never successful. But Rachel had insisted that they could do it. That what they had was so powerful that not even thousands of miles could tear them apart. But it all seemed to good to be true.
Suddenly, Quinn's computer screen lit up. It appeared that Quinn had actually gotten something to work on the stupid machine. Quinn needed a username so she decided then what a better idea than to ask Rachel what it should be.
"Hey, what should my user name be? –Quinnie"
Not even a minute later, Quinn's phone buzzed.
"hotbitchskankfabray ;) –Rach"
Quinn scowled. It would be Rachel to bring up her "skank" days. Then again if it weren't for Rachel, Quinn would probably be low life chain smoker and a 'Lima Loser'.
What the hell, Quinn decided to go with it. She had learned that letting Rachel have her own way was much easier than arguing with the future Broadway superstar.
"Add a contact" popped up on the screen and Quinn promptly typed "goldstarberry" into the search bar and added Rachel. Now she waited. Should she write her a message? Should she call Rachel? How do you even make a call?
Suddenly, a blasting ringing sound came from the computer. Quinn screamed. What did the computer want from her now? Then she noticed that the computer was telling her something: "Incoming Call from Rachel Berry".
Quinn gulped. This was it. Would this be everything she needed? Would this make the deep hole in her stomach go away? Well, there was only one way to find out. Quinn nervously clicked "Accept".
Everything changed in that moment. It was like all the puzzle pieces were finally coming into place after working on it for days. Rachel's petite but larger than life face filled Quinn's screen. Rachel was stunning. Everything about her was beautiful, inside and out. Her smile lit up the room even though they were thousands of miles apart. To make things even more sentimental, Rachel was wearing an animal sweater Quinn had got her for Christmas last year. Quinn's eyes filled with tears and she laughed nervously. Rachel was going on about how she saw Idina Menzel on the street or something but Quinn was too thrilled to care. For the first time ever, Quinn thought that long distance would work.
xx
