She loves him, she loves him more than she thought possible.
If she is said to be pretty, then surely he would be beautiful with those wonderfully mismatched eyes...but he probably wouldn't believe her would he?
She was interested in him long before she met him, how can she not when there exists someone as unique as her brother? Someone who shares a similar background and similarly strange quirks as herself?
...But he is much more than that she knows now, Vincent Nightray is a man playing a game with the world.
Ada knows that she isn't particularly fast nor sharp, in fact she would be first to compare herself to a spoon, but she isn't stupid...and she notices things.
Things like the mocking tone to his voice as he finishes his pleasantries, the strange glint in his eyes, the feeling of talking to a man who is pretending oh so casually and lying oh so prettily. She knows that he is not sincere with her. She didn't know why he approached her nor any of his plans...but she loves him in spite of this, or even because of this.
For Ada knows that a part of her is twisted, not in a particularly good or evil way, but twisted irreparably and irreversibly like a screw. A part of her became fundamentally different from other girls since the day her brother disappeared.
Different in the way she learnt not to talk of certain topics, that there are different layers of lies, that there exists something so terrible that even knowledge of it is dangerous.
Of course she knows nothing, people had worked hard for her not to be exposed to the truth, whatever that means. She lets them pull the wool over her eyes...because that is all she can do.
But even knowing that there is a secret changed her, affecting her focus, leading her to dabble in whatever dark arts she could find on the one percent chance she could bring her brother back.
And this ultimately brings him into her path...Vincent Nightray.
She thought they were the same, but after the night she revealed her little secret she knows he is on another level...she could tell from the speed he broke and replaced his mask in front of her that Vincent has a bigger secret than cutting dolls.
And she just cannot resist, she cannot resist this beautiful child who is everything she didn't have the strength to be and more, who she knows in her gut is connected to all the mysteries in her life and everyone she knows.
Was she attracted because she was tired of being protected, because she felt guilty, because she was jealous? She isn't really sure but there is one thing that she is certain of.
Vincent Nightray is the strongest man and the weakest child she has ever seen.
He has the eyes of a man who had seen everything and that of a child who had judged everything he had seen. She had let herself fall for this unfortunate man who belongs in a world of secrets...but then she always knew that the twisted part of her would probably ruin her one day.
That day is probably coming soon, Ada smiles slightly as she struggles under the weight of the giant sword she found lying around. She can't help but wish to protect that lonely child can she? Disgustingly innocent and naive as she is, Ada kicks off her inappropriate shoes and returns to the place she needs to be...by his side.
