Tris's POV
"Four?" I asked. We had just gotten our ranking for our Dauntless initiation, and also may have kissed in front of most of my fellow initiates. "Yes, Tris?" He asked. "Could we go somewhere else? I really don't want to be here right now," I said.
All my friends looked at me with gaping eyes with their chins to the ground. Talk about being surprised. Tobias led me to his apartment. "Is my apartment okay?" He asks. A nervous feeling embraced my stomach. All I could feel was nervousness. What exactly does Tobias have planned? "Yeah," I say, while gulping down this silly nervousness. I know, that Tobias would never force me into doing something I didn't want to do. He opened the apartment door.
"Would you like something to drink, or...?" Tobias asked. "Um, no thanks." I say. "Could I sleep here tonight? I really don't want any questions tonight about us," I say. Pink flooded to my cheeks. I know that was an embarrassing question, but I knew that if I slept in the dormitories like everybody else, I would just get questions about Four. Questions like: Were you sleeping with the instructor for first rank? Or something like that shit. Tobias seemed to notice I was embarrassed.
"Sure." He said. "Do you want to go back to the dormitories for anything?" He asked. "Um, no. I don't want to go back to the dormitories. But I need something to sleep in, so I guess I'll have to go ba-," I didn't get to finish my sentence. "You can borrow something of mine," He said. Now it was his turn to be embarrassed. My face lit up. "Are you sure you're okay with it?" I asked. "Of course..." He said. He handed me a long t-shirt. "I'm going to take a shower." I said. Now that, is awkward. I closed the door, undressed, and stepped into the shower. As soon as I turned the water off, I realized I hadn't grabbed a towel. I look around. There were shelves way up near the ceiling of the bathroom, and shelves way down low. A towel could be anywhere.
Normally, forgetting a towel would be okay. I could just go get one. But I wouldn't want Tobias to think I went through his stuff. Especially, when I'm going to sleep here in his apartment until I get mine. Which could take up to a week after I get my job. "Um...Tobias?" I say. "Yes, Tris?" He says. "I kinda forgot a towel. Do you know where one is?" I say. He hesitates. "Yeah...I do know where one is. There are in the highest cabinet." He says.
Now I know why he hesitated. I would never be able to reach those. "Could you like...cover your eyes and come get one for me?" I ask. "Um...Yeah," He said nervously. I heard the door open and flinched away toward the top cabinet. "Follow my voice toward the cabinet." I say. "Ok." He said.
I didn't see the puddle of water. And neither did he. He took another step. His foot slipped on the water. His arm looking for something to grab. Unfortunately, that was my arm. He pulled me down, naked and all, on top of him. His eyes bore into mine trying to see what I was feeling, since I was naked on top of my older boyfriend. I didn't know how I felt. Until, I did. I laughed. His face broke into that crooked smile I know too well. "Oh, goodness Tobias!" I say. He just smiles. "Keep your eyes closed. I need a towel." I say. He laughs. "Way to get to the point, Tris." He says. "Well, I am naked." I say. The color drains out of Tobias's face and he stops laughing. "Ooookay..." He says in a shaky breath as he hands me my towel. "There you are," He says as I wrap my self protectively under the towel. "I'll be out here." He says. "And before I forget, Christina asked about you getting ready for the Dauntless party tonight with her." He said. "Yeah, I'll get ready with her." I say. And then I remembered. This party tonight was only for the old initiates, and the initiate instructors. This'll be interesting.
