Author's Notes:
This is my first "story" and will contain a number of "Frozen"-styled parodies of some popular contemporary songs. The songs I've written are almost exclusively sung by the major characters of the film, namely Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Hans. I've also chosen to include some hip-hop songs, since I felt that hip-hop and rap can be a great medium to tell stories. The first half-dozen or so songs encompass events from the movie, but subsequent songs will cover potential sequel hooks from ideas that I have come up with. Many of the songs will be detailed enough with exposition to give you an idea of what I want to convey in a potential sequel, although they are open-ended enough to be part of different stories as well. Mostly, they will get into the heads of the characters, giving us an idea of their mental and psychological states, as well as motivations.
UPDATE: If you would like to read the songfic one-shots taking place after the Great Thaw, you may begin on Chapter 8.
UPDATE 2: I am accepting song ideas for parodying. Here are the ground rules. You may make your requests in the review box or as a private message. At a minimum, please name the song and the artist(s). If you like, you can also be more specific and suggest who you would like to be the singer(s) as well as a theme, i.e. Kristanna, Helsa, Elsanna, or non-romantic, Frohana, Ice Bros, story-based, etc. Feel free to suggest your own lyric changes or even submit a full parody of your own...I will be certain to credit you accordingly. I will reserve the right to make changes to your ideas where I see fit, however.
Have fun submitting your song ideas!
This first song covers the central conflict of "Frozen". It is a parody of Ed Sheeran's "I See Fire" from "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug".
Lastly, I do not own "Frozen" or any of its characters.
"I See Ice"
[Anna]
Oh frosty eye of the North Mountain below
Keep careful watch of my sister's soul
And should the sky be filled with sleet and snow
Keep watching over Arendelle
[Kristoff (plays lute)]
If this is to end in ice
Then we could just freeze forever
Watch the frost creep up windows at night
Calling out harder oh
Stand by and we will
Watch the snow fall on and on
The mountain side
And if we should fail tonight
Then we might all freeze forever
Raise a hand to the sky for the last time
Calling out louder oh
Prepare as we will
Watch the snow fall on and on
The mountain side
Desolation comes to Arendelle
Now I see ice
On the North Mountain
I see ice
Frosting the trees
I see ice
Freezing our hearts
I see ice
A chilly breeze
And I hope that you remember me
[Anna]
Oh, should my people freeze
Then surely I won't think twice
To tell my sister, please
I got too close to her ice
Calling out sister oh
Hold fast and we will
Watch the snow fall on and on
The mountain side
Desolation comes upon my heart
Now I see ice
On the North Mountain
I see ice
Frosting the trees
I see ice
Freezing our hearts
I see ice
A chilly breeze
And I hope that you remember me
And if my heart is freezing
I will lay down my life
For if the prince returns
Then my sister will die
And as the storm is bearing down
The snow blankets this lonely town
And my shadow on the icy ground
I hear a cold sword screaming out
[Both]
Now I see ice
On the North Mountain
I see ice
Frosting the trees
I see ice
Freezing our hearts
I see ice
A chilly breeze
[Anna (Kristoff)]
I see ice (oh you know I saw this city filled with white), ice
And I see ice (feel the cold upon my skin, yeah), ice
And I see ice (oh-oh-oh-oh), ice
[Both] And I see snow fall on and on the mountain side
A/N: The parts in parenthesis are sung by the person whose name is enclosed in parenthesis—in this case, Kristoff. There will be more Anna and Kristoff duets in the future! Comments and feedback appreciated!
