If there was one thing that could describe the cold due of Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III and Jackson Overland Frost, it's that they were kind and true.
Hiccup, though scrawny, is known to never hold a grudge. He is kind. He shows kindness.
It is only when he holds a grudge against those who hurt the ones he cares for, that that kindness fades.
Jackson, better known as Jack, is true.
Not true, as in truthfull.
But true, as in...
well...
real.
Born in the seventeen hundreds, Jack died saving his own sister from an icy, watery, grave. Taking her place, he became the invisible, unwanted, fun loving, spirit of winter.
So, when he crossed paths with Hiccup, he crossed paths with kindness.
When Hiccup crossed paths with Jack, he crossed paths with someone who was true to themselves.
True and Kind.
Kind and True.
Jack and Hiccup.
Hiccup and Jack.
One of a kind.
Yet so alike.
When they first met, the duo found themselves as, to simply put it, acquiantances.
A hundred years later, they became friends.
And today, they are more.
They are Autumn and Change.
Winter and Fun.
Kindess and Truth.
Yes, there are others who show the same traits of kindness and truth as they do.
But they can never measure up to them.
The scrawny Viking who changed the way dragons were viewed.
The youngest spirit who, despite never knowing his past, fought for those higher in rank than him.
The boy who gave his life for village.
The boy who gave his life for his sister.
The Dragon Rider who brought kindness to a creature in whom he saw himself.
The Winter Spirit who showed truth in his words, when he declined joining the man who would have made him been seen through fear.
Jack and Hiccup became icons for children of all ages.
The two most underappreciated spirits, became the ones others would go to.
They sought the kind words Hiccup brought.
And the true persona inside them that Jack helped bring out.
True and Kind.
Kind and True.
That's what Jack Frost and Hiccup H. Haddock III were.
And it's why so many of us,
look up to them today.
