A/N: This is probably a horrible time to start doing this, but in an attempt to get back into writing, I have decided to try writing drabbles. I'm going for one a day but I have a feeling that is not going to happen. Oh and be sure to check out FL's "100 Charah Moments", which also uses the 100 Royai themes and was so freaking awesome that I was inspired to do this.
Disclaimer: I don't own Chuck. And for the love of ice cream that is rocky and roady, please don't sue.
014. Covered Eyes
He knows firsthand that his partner does not hide from anything. In a fight, she may duck and run for cover (if only to find a better angle from which to kill you). But hide? Never.
Yet as he peers into the dimly lit room, he can see her bent over, elbows drawn tight to her stomach, and palms firmly pressed to her cheeks and eyes. Clearly hiding from someone. He watches her curiously.
Her hands fly away from her face.
"Peek-a-boo!"
The babe in the crib shrieks gleefully and waves a clenched fist in the air. She laughs and scoops the little girl into her arms, murmuring words of a mother's love into the dark mass of curly brown hair.
He's supposed to tell her that Beckman wants a meeting with the team in five and that they need to inventory a new shipment of weapons. But now she's pressing butterfly light kisses to the tiny face and swaying to the rhythm of a song only she can hear, so he slips away without a word.
Sometimes, just sometimes, the spy life can wait.
Review please? Thank you! :)
