"Denzel, don't be afraid" said Tifa pressing her lips to a kiss firmly on Denzel's cheek, curling his hair with her finger. "Cloud will always be with you"
"Tifa, why is Cloud always….away?" asked Denzel whose face turned sour from sadness, he didn't want to know the answer, nor did Tifa want to give him it. She admiringly gazed into Denzel's confused youthful eyes, and lulled him to sleep with her lullabies... never giving him an answer, for even she didn't have one, and she for the longest time, had desperately yearned to answer that question.
She quietly walked towards her bedroom, her eyes weary and body exhausted, from a hard nights work serving drinks at her bar. She prepared herself for another difficult day of work….
That night, like every other night, in her sleep, she would be tormented by her own dreams; her feelings for Cloud were deeply damaging her, not her body, for it was strong and well built, but her mind, for it was weak and fragile, and it would plant growing seeds of unhappiness deep within her subconscious. They were scarring her strong, abnormally large and contracting heart muscles forcing her to toss and turn in her sleep; choking her in her own frustrations for not being able to probe into Cloud's shielded prison of a mind. Cloud wanted to be everywhere, do everything, his overexertion of energy exhausting him and never allowing him or Tifa to be happy.
"Why, Cloud, Can't you be like everybody else?" said Tifa wearily… "Why can't we have a normal life, you and me, and Denzel, like I've always dreamed of? Why can't we be normal like everybody else?"
Every night in her painful sleeping she would ask herself those questions, and hope to one day hear an answer.
And for years none ever came….
The end
