Harry rubbed his emerald green eyes blearily and sat up. Looking around him, he could see many cars zooming past, and the occasional 'honk!' of an angry driver. 'So this is Singapore' he mused.
He had arrived there by portkey a few minutes ago, to finish his history of magic assignment that he was supposed to complete during the holidays. He stood up carefully, testing his limbs. He looked around, noticing the rush the people seemed to be in; and the dustbins that surrounded the alley that he had landed in.
He got out carefully, making sure no one saw him. Accomplishing that, he walked out into the busy streets. He looked around for a sign that would tell him where in the world is he and where can he find accommodations. 'Found it!' he thought excitedly, as he spotted a sign with the words 'Orchard Road' displayed prominently.
'Now for the accommodations,' he thought, as he walked towards a building. The large words, 'Cineleisure Orchard' flashed into his eyes. 'There has to be someone who knows where the hotels are,' he thought. Walking to the counter, he asked, "Excuse me, do you know if there are any hotels around here?"
The woman flashed him a strange look before replying. "The Meritus Mandarin is near by. Walk straight , when you reach a junction, turn right."
Harry nodded his thanks and exited the building. Following the woman's instructions, he finally reached the hotel. He took in the grand decorations with a gasp. Never in his life had he seen such expensive looking decorations, in a hotel! Striding in, he requested a room for 1 night, for he would be leaving the next day.
"That would be $259, are you paying in cash or by visa?" the man behind the counter drawled, tiredness evident in his face.
Harry reluctantly peeled away three hundred dollar notes from his stack of fourteen, as the man gaped in astonishment. He cashed in the money, returning forty-one dollars as change. Another man came over and guided him to his room, leaving him outside with his access key.
Harry sighed in relief when he opened the door. A proper bed at last. He re-transfigured his luggage that he had shrunk, taking out a fresh shirt and pants. Changing quickly, he toppled into the bed, falling into a deep sleep.
The morning came quickly, and Harry hastily packed his luggage and shrunk them again. Striding out to the lobby he checked out and exited the hotel.
Five hours later, he finished his essay that was now 3 feet long. I should really stop hanging around Hermione, he thought, as he strolled through Paragon.
It happened suddenly, no one knew, as 4 stunners shot in his direction. He ducked rapidly, quickly taking his wand out of his pocket. He noticed that everyone was gone now. Great, he thought sarcastically.
4 death eaters walked slowly towards him.
"Are you sure we are going to do this?" death eater 1 said to the second.
All nodded in reply, training his wands on him, "Avada Kedavra!" And all went black.
