Based off the Cannon movie of Sleeping Beauty
Once upon a time in a land far away a baby daughter was born to the king and queen. They adored her. No child was more wanted and more loved then Princess Rose-bud. Once a friend of the queen's remarked to her that Rosebud was probably the only one in the kingdom who was not required to bow down or curtsy when she approached the king and queen.
"Why should she," the queen countered, "she's our child. She is just as royal as we are"
"Don't you fear that the rest of the kingdom may decide to do the same thing," the queen's friend asked but the queen just shook that off thinking who cares
Rosebud had a habit at night of coming into the throne room and playing on her parents thrones. Sometimes she would play mommy to her dolls. Sometimes she would have a tea party. Sometimes she would just stand on the throne and dance. Sometimes she would pretend to be a wonderful singer. It was all very entertaining or it would have been had anyone been there to see it. Usually by the time Rosebud came to the throne room her parents were asleep.
One night the king could not sleep. He decided to go to the throne room and do a little bit of reading. He had not gotten very far when he saw Rosebud sitting on his throne having the time of her life having a tea party.
"Have a tea party with me daddy," Rosebud asked.
"Of course darling," the king said and he rang for the cook and the queen. The cook came out shortly.
"Fix up your best cakes and foods and drinks," the king said, "we are having a tea party"
"Your majesty I really must object. What would your people think if he knew the king was having a 'tea party' with the princess?"
"I would 'hope' they would 'think' the truth that I'm a father who loves his daughter quite deeply. Frankly however it is none of their 'business' and I'm not 'worried' about that. Now fix up your best cakes and foods and drinks"
The cook bowed slightly.
The queen got there. She chuckled at the sight of her 3-year-old seated on her father's throne"
A couple of nights later the queen couldn't sleep.
"Darling," the queen said, "I think that we need to do something about Rosebud playing on our thrones. I don't have a problem with her doing that but it's too high up off the ground. With the c u r s e that the witch put on her that she shall prick her finger on a spindle and die and with our burning all the spindles the witch will go to any length to kill her. So what if we have a child sized throne made for her"
The king agreed it was a great idea and it was so ordered.
