Into the Unknown
Risen, fallen, broken, lost
A king paid too high a cost
Remained as fuel, to a raging fire
Hollowed, insane, to never tire
A god, a deity, a lord in time
A king who punished his own crime
Remember this wasted lord,
Never resting, nevermore
Dark will rise, will take its toll
Residing deep within the soul
So, waiting, on the end of today
Stood a cursed, the ground to never lay
Legend has foretold, in days to unfold
A lost will stand, crushed by his brand
Steeped in the dark, will leave its mark
Among all those of his kind.
The lost fought, torn as he thought
Of what a world he hated, truly unabated
Sin shall break, his mind to take
As the lords had lied.
But one day soon, covered by the moon.
An old friend killed, a ring as he willed
The lost will rise, answer the cries
Of all those who have died.
Tired and broken, old anger awoken.
Shadow to cover, to break, to smother
The lost cry out, without the shadow of doubt
An abyss will stay denied.
It makes me wonder,
How it makes me ponder,
The world that we wander,
Carrying that old monster.
To stoop so low
Corpses for crows
The remains of a foe
To stay lost and alone.
That old knight, set to drain
Amid the shadow he will remain
To fight and set free, he came
To leave, tortured, broken, insane
That old king's ineffable curse
A fate of which there are few worse
He stayed by the flame, hollow as the others
Forced to sacrifice his family and brothers.
A king must always carry his mark.
Bear the curse of a soul so dark.
