Lilly sat there in the graveyard, running her fingers over the engraved words on the headstone. It had been almost three years since the accident, and it still haunted her. She felt tears form in her eyes as she remembered everything about him. His smile, the way he used to laugh, how it felt to hold him, how it felt to be in his arms. As she reminisced, she saw a friendly face squat down next to the tombstone.
"Hey Lils."
"Hi Ollie." sighed Lilly as she ran her fingers over the last few letters of his name.
"You okay?" asked Oliver as he noticed her sad face.
"I'll be okay." stated Lilly as Oliver put his arms around her. They stood at the grave, Lilly running her fingers though the letters and Oliver just stood there, feeling horrible for his friend that lost the love of her life. He remembered as well the times not only Lilly and him had together, but the times they had together. He felt the tears form in his eyes as well. People kept telling them that time would heal the pain they felt, but to be honest, it still hurt. Miley suffered the worst though. She wouldn't leave her room for days at a time, and then about a year later, she threw herself into work and was always on the road and doing whatever she could to keep her mind off of him.
They had all gotten better though, but if you ever mentioned his name around anyone who knew and loved him, everything fell silent and sometimes, people would scatter and leave the room and cry. This was a tragedy that no one saw coming.
An hour had past and the dark clouds began to roll in.
"Lils, c'mon, we gotta-"
"IT'S NOT FAIR!" yelled Lilly as she began to cry.
"It's not fair that he had to drive home from prom that night! It's not fair that it was raining and the roads were wet! It's not fair that the car swerved! It's not fair that he sacrificed himself for me! He shouldn't be in there! I should be!" cried Lilly as she banged her fist against the ground that lay over her lovers grave. She gave the ground one last blow before she fell into a fettle position and began to sob uncontrollably. Oliver knelt down and held Lilly as she began to shake from crying so hard. Finally she stopped and gained back her control…
"Ollie?"
"Yeah Lils?" stated Oliver as he wiped away the tears that Lilly caused to fall out of his eyes.
"Do you think this happened for a reason?" Oliver didn't know what to say. Should he tell her yes and break her heart? Or should he say no and still make her want to cry?
"I don't know Lilly."
"I think it did. I think he's trying to tell me I should move on and love again…" smiled Lilly. Oliver couldn't help but smile as well. They got up and just like that, the clouds pulled back and the bright Malibu sun appeared, shinning directly on Lilly.
"I miss you too." she whispered. They began to walk back, but not before Lilly ran back to the grave and placed a kiss on the cold stone of the tombstone.
"But you'll always be in my heart." she smiled as she ran back to Oliver. The sun shined on the tombstone, whose words read:
