There I was again tonight, forcing laughter, faking smiles. Same old time, lonely place. Walls of insincerity, shifting eyes and vacancy vanished when I saw your face. All I can say is, I was enchanted to meet you.
Wow. Will Schuester thought. Who ever that is, she looks gorgeous.
Even though he was at the 5th annual faculty party with his high school sweet heart who became his wife, he couldn't help but notice the ginger when she walking in the door, obviously feeling like she doesn't belong. She didn't look familiar at all; he would remember eyes like that. Eyes like a bush baby that made her look more adorable than she already did. But with a striking red dress that stopped just inches above her knees, she wasn't' adorable. She was hot. Stunning.
He asked around and found out her name was Emma Pillsbury. She was the school's new Guidance Consoler. Every man found her attractive, but would never act on those feelings because she looked too innocent. They where afraid of rejection.
"Honey, I'm going home okay? Call me when you need a ride." His wife, Terri, said lightly kissing his lips. Feeling a pair of jealous eyes upon her, she tilted her head, deepening the kiss brushing her tongue against his top lip her motivation being random whistles and "Get it Schuester!" being shouted from the back of the room. She was disappointed when he pulled away, that usually drove him crazy.
"Ter, we're not at home. Y-You can't do that here."
"Sorry babe," She apologized with faux concern. "I guess my hormones are going really crazy for you right now."
"We'll finish this at home, okay?" He winked at her but his tone remained serious.
"Oh-Okay honey. At home." She kissed his cheek once and left, almost knocking into the ginger purposely.
Will caught the gingers eyes, they whispered "Have we met?" Across the room her silhouette started to make it's way to him. She formally introduces herself as Emma Pillsbury, Guidance Consoler and the playful conversation starts, he counters all her quick remarks, like passing notes in secrecy.
The night quickly came to a dwindling end, Will and Emma still talking at the table abandoned by Terri and Will's colleagues. "Oh looks like things are wrapping up." Will said, letting go of the table cloth his fingers where nervously twisting. The tension automatically got thick; they had bonded in such a way they could kiss goodbye. Emma stood up and Will did too, almost knocking his chair to the ground in anticipation, catching it before it fell to the ground and drew attention to them.
Attention they didn't want. They exchanged numbers 'In case there's a school emergency' and Emma stuck out her hand to shake his, "Well William Schuester, it was enchanting to meet you." His mouth was dry without a response. That was clever. He'd never heard that. He shook her hand and squeezed tight-but not to tight-hoping to show his attraction and affection for her. As she was walking away, he finally thought of something "Hey, Em, it was enchanting to meet you too."
He toke the bus home, wonderstruck and blushing. The lingering question kept him up till 2 am; 'who do you love?' He wondered till he was wide awake.
After he and Terri broke up, he paced back and forth in his living room, hoping Emma would show up at his door. He would open up and she would say "Hey".
When Emma and Carl broke up, he hoped this was the very next page for him and Emma, not where the story book ends. His name would echo her brain till he saw her again.
When she confided in him, "Please don't be in love with someone else, please don't have someone waiting on you." He had no choice but to reply with the truth, "I was never in love with someone else. I never had someone waiting on me. You've made all of my dreams come true. I'll spend forever wondering if you know I am so in love with you."
