Alfred and Arthur have started dating. They have been together for a few months and are now living together. Even though they have been together for a while, Arthur is still having trouble expressing his feelings for Alfred. They are living together as lovers, but Alfred feels more like roommates.

"Iggy! I'm home!" Alfred exclaimed as he walked in the door from work. He took off his shoes and hung up his coat, knowing he would be scolded if he didn't. Arthur was sitting on the couch and reading his book.

"Haven't I asked you to stop calling me by that obnoxious nickname?" The Brit asked as he set down his book on the coffee table.

"What do you want me to call you then?" Alfred asked as he plopped down beside Arthur. "Babe? Honey? Sweetie Pie? Sexy?"

He got closer and closer to Arthur with each word; making a light shade of pink come to the Brit's cheeks. When Alfred saw his reaction he leaned in and gave Arthur a quick kiss. Arthur blushed madly at this and looked down. He still wasn't used to Alfred's random acts of affection, and they always left him flustered.

"I-Iggy is alright… I guess." The Brit mumbled.

Alfred giggled "You're so cute."

Arthur blushed even more. "G-Git! Don't just say such embarrassing things!" The Brit stood and stormed off into the kitchen.

"Awe! Cummon, babe! Don't be mad!" Alfred pleaded as he followed Arthur into the kitchen

"I'm not angry," Arthur sighed "I'm just not used to this yet."

"I'm sorry" Alfred groaned "I just love you so much! I can't handle it!" He added with a smile in his voice.

"Git" was the only reply Arthur gave. He had his back to Alfred, so he could not see the blush that his last comment gave the Brit. He started making tea, not looking at Alfred.

'Why won't he say he loves me?' The American thought to himself. 'I say it all the time, so it would only make sense for him to say it back.' He pouted 'Why won't he return any of my affection? Maybe he doesn't like me as much as I though he did.'

Alfred took a few steps forward and hugged Arthur from behind, who was still making tea.

"Wh-what are you doing?!" The Brit nervously stuttered.

"Artie, how much do you like me?" Alfred asked sweetly.

"Huh?! What kind of a question is that?!"

"Please, just tell me."

"I…I don't understand why you are asking me this now."

With a sigh, Alfred turned Arthur around, picked him up, and set him on the counter so they were at eye level. He looked the Brit dead in the eye.

"You never say 'I love you' I always call you cute pet names and all you ever call me is 'Git' or just plain 'Alfred' and I always have to make the first move… Do you even like me at all?" Alfred questioned, his voice was serious and a little hurt.

"O-Of course I like you!" Arthur countered "If I didn't I wouldn't be here would I?!"

Alfred didn't say anything; he just looked at Arthur, waiting for him to say more.

Arthur broke eye contact. Letting his emerald eyes hit the floor. "I'm sorry if I have hurt you;" He gave a sigh of defeat "I am just not good at this sort of thing."

Alfred chuckled "Clearly" He put his hand under Arthur's chin and brought his gaze up to meet his own "But practice makes perfect" he softly mumbled before he leaned in for a loving kiss.

When the American pulled away, the Brit pulled him into a warm embrace.

"I…I…um..." Arthur stuttered.

Alfred pulled away from the hug and looked Arthur in the eye "Yes?" he asked sweetly.

'Damn' the Brit thought 'How am I supposed to do this while looking into those breathtakingly beautiful eyes of his?!'

"I…" He said aloud "I-I love you…I love you so much."

And this time, Arthur was the one to lean in for an adoring kiss.
