"Ok Lightning, use Iron Tail!"

"Eve." Lightning then ran at the rock on front of him, as he came closer his tail began to glow with energy, when close enough he jumped off the ground and twisted in the air for his tail to connect with the rock, it blew to pieces as he landed on the other side.

I walked over to him and began to rub the top of his head. "Good job boy."

He smiled and then nuzzled into my hand,

As he did this I just couldn't believe how I had ended up here again of all places, the world of Pokemon.

So allow me to share my story with you all. I promise it'll be a duzy.

So to begin with, I am not originally from the pokemon world. This is a little complicated, so I'll start from the beginning.

I died.

It is just as plain and simple as that. See I was born in a different world than the one I am currently in. There Pokemon was a world wide anime, game, and manga series. I had watched it religiously since I was a child and never stopped loving it. The adventures, the quests, and even the life lessons taught really resonated with me. But now back to the important topic. My death.

I was a freshman in college walking back to my dorm room. I was never the outgoing type, but I was finally beginning to crack my shell. That's when I saw it. A little girl was chasing a ball into a street, and some asshole was on his phone about to run her over. I just reacted like my parents taught me. I pushed the little girl out of the way, but then I got myself hit. The damn car snapped my spine leaving me only seconds to live. It was so unfair. I wanted to live a long life, see the world, maybe even one day start a family. Well for me it was not meant to be and I faded in a few moments.

I thought it was the end, but I was happily wrong.

A moment later I felt something pull me. I was always agnostic toward religion, but now not so much considering my current situation.

As soon as I was pulled I could feel again. It turns out I was getting rebirthed in the literal and figurative sense. Whatever or whoever pulled from my body dropped my soul in a new one as a baby. How do I know this? I still had all my memories from my previous life up until that point, but some became really fuzzy like my name and anyone I knew. In time I came see it was better this way. I wouldn't be worrying about them to much, and I could focus on my new life.

The littleral rebirthing was… "interesting". And by that I mean a shout out to all women with kids. I could feel everything as I came into my new world and it was not so pleasant for me at all. But I came out alright. I was a healthy baby boy the doctor said as he held me. Well at least I could understand the language he spoke. It was english, and thank the entity that put me here that my gender was the same. I had read some of those fanfictions of being reborn as the opposite gender back in my own world, and while they were good I can say with certainty that I never wanted to experience a period in my life. My mom got really moody at that time of the month and I always had to walk on eggshells around her.

So thank you again spirit or whatever you are.

Once the doctor was done looking me over like a new doll he handed to someone. She was my new mother. I just knew it. You know that instant bound a parent and child say they have sometimes, well I finally got that now. My mother is beautiful if I did say so myself, she had long silky midnight black hair and stunning green eyes.

"Hell Kallen, I am your mother." She then cradle my in her arms and rocked me back and forth.

Kallen was a nice name, and the rocking felt good, but I still had one problem. I had no clue if this was my old world or like in some light novels I read where a person is sent to a completely new one. This made me a little nervous at not knowing what the future had in store for me.

I thankfully got an answer a few months later.

Let me tell you right now, being a newborn baby with adult memories sucks ass. All I could do was eat, sleep, and take a dump on myself. That last one was the worst part and I got why babies now howled like dogs whenever it happened. But I was glad when my mother used a warm hand towel to clean my bottom. This woman was great. I had learned from the people in the hospital room her name was Cecilia. My father was not there at all, but my mom told me I would meet him soon. That was close too a year ago and still no sign of the guy. I knew my mother was a smart woman from the way she talked to me, so what was happening here.

As I was thinking in my crib the door to my room cracked open. I just assumed it was my mother, but boy was I wrong. A moment later, this giant thing that looked like a greenish blob was hovering over me with wavy things around it. I did the only thing I could.

"AAAAHHHH!" Yep, I screamed at the top of my lungs.

This thing was getting closer to me, and I was scared shitless I was gonna die again, and then …

BOOM!

The door to my room was slammed back into the wall as my mother busted in and a man I had no clue of. I was thankful my mother had come in to save me, but this is where it got weird. She wasn't beating the monster to death, in fact she was scolding it.

Yep, like a kid that done something bad my mother was giving the monster a tongue lashing like you wouldn't believe and strangely enough the creatures got down from above me and actually moved it's body closer to the damn wooden floor in my room. This was messing with my head so much.

The man then came over and picked me up. He looked familiar but I couldn't place him. He had turquoise hair and eyes with a nice smile. I then saw something else come into the room and screamed a bit again. This time it a pink blob that I still had trouble placing, and then I heard my mother say something that stunned me.

"Cradily we told you to wait and you still ignored us!"

My mom just called the greenish blob a Cradily, I thought is was impossible, but my vision better now that I was elevated and I saw it clearly, it was a Cradily. That was a fossil pokemon and then I looked at the door again and saw the pink blob was a Slowbro. I was looking at actual real life pokemon. This was awesome.

My mom was done giving Cradily a tongue lashing and came over looking disheveled. "Sorry about that Cecilia." The man holding me finally spoke in a smooth voice. "I told my pokemon about Kallen, and I guess they just got so excited to meet him." The man was now laughing in an apologetic tone.

My mother just sighed. "Steven it's fine, I always know how you're pokemon are, but at least only one of them could fit through the door." My mother then smiled and kissed the man called Steven on the cheek.

…. Wait a minute… I looked at him one more time… AH! I was having the loudest mental shout ever. I knew this guy was familiar. He was the Champion of the Hoenn region, a Steel-type master, and the heir to the Devon Corporation.

Steven Stone.

I then got another mind scream, apparently I was in this world his son.

… Thank you great being!

"Hm." I was writing with a stick in the ground spelling something out. When I was done I turned to the pokemon beside me and pointed down to it. "So this is your name, ok?" The creature then look perplexed. "Ag?" I pointed again and got the same result.

"Haha. Having fun I see son." I smiled and so did the Aggron beside me. "Yeah dad I am."

Steven then came over and patted me on the head. "I see you're still trying to teach Aggron his name."

I shrugged my shoulders at this. "He is still the only one of your pokemon who can't do it, all the other can, even Armaldo who has the worst temper." My dad laughed at this, and Aggron got an annoyed look on his face. He and my dad's Aggron had this "friend;y" rivalry, and by that I mean they tried to one up each other every chance they got whether in battle or eating, or mating. Yeah, learning about pokemon mating was none to fun, but here in this world it was essential for trainers to know.

"Well then, have fun." My dad then gave me a wink, since he knew what I just done. I waved him off and gave him a subtle wink back.

"Well Aggron, ready to get back to it?" He then roared in the air and focused on the word drawn in the dirt.

So easy sometimes.

So let me catch you up on the last 9 years of my life then. In this world my full name is Kallen Stone Durant. The son of the current Hoenn champion Steven Stone and Cecilia Durant. If you're wondering why I have my mom's last name it's for many reason but here are just a few to name.

My parents for one are not married, which here like in my old world doesn't matter at all. The families are ok with it. I have met my grandfather Mr. Stone many times over the years and like the grandpa in my old world he spoils me to no end. My mom's family is cool with it too. She had an older brother, and younger sister, and my other grandfather. I have met him as well, but he is a little strange, he shows up at the weirdits times, then he gets into all sorts of trouble with my mom. He curses around me and makes some sexual jokes, then my mother beats the hell out of him for it. He was pretty funny, and it was fun to watch. My mom even got the anime fire eyes effect as she wailed on him. His pokemon did nothing to help him, since they knew he deserved it.

Now back to the reasons why. First off my dad is the Champion, there are many people who look up to him and vice versa who would do anything to hurt him. That's why it was decided I would use my mom's name, so I wouldn't get taken as a hostage against him or for a money ransom since if he and my grandfather perish I am the sole heir to the company of Devon. Also yes that stuff happens in this pokemon world, there is violence, murder, and crime just not as abundant like back in my old world. There is also the fact that pokemon are now used to commit these crimes. I will never forget the first time I realized this pokemon world was not like the favorite anime I watched on Saturday morning's.

I was in the living room at 6 years old watching the television with my dad's Cradily. Once I had gotten older I had learned he was the most excitable of my dad's pokemon and just couldn't wait to meet me so he snuck into my room. I forgave him once I could speak and we hit it off. Both of us had this lay back and inquisitive personality to us. We would often watch documentaries and read books together, plus he would lift me in the air with his tentacles and they felt to soft and warm. We had just began a live showing of a pokemon race in Petalburg City.

"Hello everyone." A pretty blonde reporter came on the tv. "I am here in Petalburg City for the annual pokeathlon 300! This is an event where each participant will use three pokemon to-" She just stopped talking as a loud boom occured right behind her. I had no clue was was going and then I threw up right on the floor.

On the televisions screen that was filled with cracks and static was a dismembered human arm.

Cradily then cried loudly and my parents came rushing into the room to see the television screen, and then my mother walked up to it, turned it off, and then came over to cradle me in her embrace.

"M-Mom tho-those people we-were?" The shaking of my body and voice would not stop. I knew that the pokemon anime white washed many things, but this… well it felt like my old world wear this type of destruction was common. I then began to hyperventilate. I was going to pass out, but then I felt someone stroke my head.

"Shh,it's ok. Everything with be just fine." The silky voice of my mother and her humming calmed me down.

"Mom's right,gotta work through this."

I then took a few deep breaths and calmed down.

"All better now?" I just hugged my mom tightly and she hugged me back.

That night I couldn't sleep that much, the image was stuck in my head, thankfully Cradily stayed with me all night and I saw my mom and the other pokemon in the house come check in on me. I really had come to love them all.

As I tossed and turned I made a decision. To be strong. This was still the world of pokemon and from the pokenet I was told that this world still allowed trainers to begin their journey at ten years old. So my plan was get strong to protect what I cared for and then take it from there.

That was the first unwitting step on my life journey.

My resolve to get stronger was now unshakable. That's another reason why I had mom's last name. I love my dad I really do, but his name carries so much weight with it. I didn't want to be known as the son of the Champion or by any of his accomplishments. I wanted to forge my own path and also make friends who wouldn't just hang out with me for what I could do for them, and yeah if murder happened here then that was a definite check, anywhere kids are the meanest of people. I think my dad wanted the same for me and gave me mom's last name. This way I could have people know me rather than judge me by a few letters put together.

I was thankful my dad was so smart on this. The next day I began my own training, since I couldn't even own a pokemon for another three to four years "officially" I took the only other route available.

Knowledge.

It's basically the glue of the world. You know all you can and it makes most things easier. So that was my goal for now. Plus I was curious about this world more now. Steven was the same age range as he was in the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire games remade, but that told me jack shit about the world itself and its history. All I knew for sure was that I lived in the Hoenn region on my mom's family farm in Fortree City.

Oh right, silly me, got to mention my mom's family. The Durant's are one of the oldest families in Hoenn. They had been around since its founding and had turned out been breeders for generations. Our speciality were flying type pokemon, along with their evolutionary lines, and Fortree City was perfect for it with it's open skies, high treetops, and respect for flying pokemon. My mom and all of her family always got to choose a pokemon from the farm when they went on their own journey. My mom was always the wild child I was told because her partner is this huge Dragonite named Mona.

That's actually a tradition in Hoenn. When a trainer starts their journey they name their starter to signify the first bond made with a pokemon of your choice. I thought that was pretty cool.

That also relates to how my parents met in the first place. My dad came to our farm to heal his Skarmory which is huge, and my mom gave him a tongue lashing for being so forgetful in it's care. Once it was done he asked her out, she was completely speechless at this but agreed to it, and well… The rest is history at they say.

So that was a change I knew for sure, since I had never heard of this Durant family in any pokemon info I knew. I needed to see what else had changed for better or worse. So everyday I immersed myself in the pokenet and looked the history of this world, needless to say some of it blew my mind.

The year currently is Pokemon calendar AU 325. The AU stands for After Unification. Close to 500 years ago the Hoenn region was divided into four parts each with its own laws, customs, and language. They were always at war with each other and fighting for their borders and territory expandment, it was a terrible scene that cost many people and pokemon their lives, then he appeared. The first recognized Hoenn Champion Kemon Elbright. He gathered like minded trainers like him with his natural leaderships skills from all four corners of Hoenn at the time, he taught them all to speak in one language to better understand each other, this brought them all closer as a whole seeing each other as individuals for the first time instead of just nameless enemies. Sadden that their people were tearing each other to pieces the trainers called for action and Kemon delivered, following the example of the recently established Kanto and Johto regions he lead his trainers forces against all four armies. He emerged victorious without a single casualty on his side. Seeing his power the leaders of the four corners of Hoenn submitted to Kemon's rule as supreme leader, however he wanted none of that. The leaders were perplexed and asked what he did want. Kemon only had one word to say.

"Peace."

Kemon then went to work. He called for a breakdown of the territorial borders of his homeland, then he began to establish a single system of language time, etc.. for the whole place. This wave of unity established the first year on the AU calendar and the subsequent founding of the Hoenn League was we know it today. Soon the regions of Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, and Alola followed suit in the same unification process, to keep the peace for future generations the governments and trainers of the world came together to establish the Pokemon World League or (PWL) for short.

The only region not included on this was the eighth region of Diaphania, but that's only because no one has ever fully explored it secrets. It is the only known region to house all species of pokemon, and to have recorded human contact thus far. The pokemon living on this continent are crazy strong and on par with Elite Four level power. In fact that "Bat Shit Crazy" old hag Agatha as my dad calls her takes vacations to the place all the time.

The info was very enlightening to me. I did some more fact checking and research to learn a few more things. One is that this world has its own history but mixes in anime and game as well. I looked up all the Hoenn gym leaders and they are the same. Next is something I never expected to find here. The age of legalization. Apparently to be able to do anything T rated you only needed to wait to turn sixteen, and by that I mean anything. I just couldn't believe it until I remembered this was not my own world, this was a new one with different systems and laws. So that being the case I decided to go with the flow and relax.

As I was remembering all this Aggron let a roar of victory. "So you finally got it, huh?" He gave me a thumbs up. I then decided to test him. I used my shoe to erase the name and then wrote it again and pointed to it, he looked at me for a moment and then pointed to it himself and then back to him.

"Excellent, you got it." I said in a jovial tone.

He began to jump and I told him to stop, we may have been at the base of the farm since my family's property was a bunch of treehouses off the beaten path and the nest were up high in them, but Aggron was just that huge. In fact, all of dad's pokemon were larger than normal. I once asked him how they got that way, and he told me it was by feeding them rare minerals. He then let his habit take over and started to talk about his love of stones. I had to stop him right there. When he got into it hardly anything could make him stop, I was thankful I didn't love stones like that.

"Uh." The breath exited my body as Aggron decided to give me a hug instead of jumping. His body was so rough that my hair was feeling like a needle was running in it.

Oh right? Again silly me, need to describe my new appearance to you all. As you know I have my mom's black hair, with bangs around my head, and for some odd reason a cowlick in the middle. I'll just chalk it up to anime logic. I got my deep turquoise eye color and flawless skin from yours truly, and if my parents were any indication, I was going to have all the ladies fawning over me as I got older.

"Ok buddy get it, now please put me down." Aggron did just that, and I was then hit in the chest by a blur and knocked on my back. "OK Lightning, stop it." It was my partner and first pokemon, and Eevee named Lightning. He was the one using Iron Tail this morning in one of our training sessions.

I just got him last year as a gift from grandpa Ryner (mom's dad). He showed up on day with the little guy, gave him to me, then ran off before my mother could beat him up. His antics never ceased to amaze me, but his gift was perfect. Eevee were so amazing with their multiple evolutions, depending on how I raised him he would turn into a powerful asset on my team. I chose the name Lightning for his speed, he was fast for his age and would only get faster. He was never going to be a tank, but with speed he would always get in the first hit and then dodged the enemy waiting for openings. This was awesome.

"So boy, what did you need?"

"It's time for dinner and I sent him to get you." I looked up at my mom. She was dressed in green pants, along with an orange vest, brown boots, and her black hair in a single ponytail behind her back. This was her work look, she worked with the flying types all day long since she retired from being a trainer, a good one at that, she won an Ever Grande Cup when 13. That's why she was my hero.

"So Aggron finally learned his name." My mom was putting soup on my plate.

That brings me to another myth to debunk. Do people eat pokemon? The answer is….

No.

I got you all didn,t I? Actually the truth is certain animals like cow, fish, and chickens exist here, but that' about it. You won't find an elephant or eagle because the pokemon dominate those territories in this world. No human has cannibalized a pokemon since the AU calendar began, and even then it was only in rare cases. The only ones who still eat pokemon are other pokemon. We humans don't interfere since it's one of their natural order things. I was thankful to have never seen that one thing.

"Yeah he did. He then almost squeezed me to death in congratulatory hug." We both laughed at this, but then I heard a wiggle and got up. I went over to check on my incubation unit and smiled. The egg inside was almost ready to hatch.

See my dad had to leave right before dinner for Ever Grande, being Champion is hard you know, thanks to my brain however I understood. My parents just thought my personality was a quirk like grandpa Ryner's so they let it be. I said by to him as he and his pokemon left. I waved him goodbye and then went to check on my pokemon.

Yeah I was already building my team. I said a person under ten couldn't legally own a pokemon, but thanks to the anime we know there are ways around that. Currently I had three. I went to fill up the bowls of the first two Lightning and Blitz before I even ate dinner. "A trainer's job is to their pokemon first." my mom always says and it was right.

"Come and get it." Lightning ran over and began to eat smiling at me, but Blitz was going to down, he ate so fast he did an anime choke scene and then somehow swallowed it all down. I laughed at him, but he ignored me. Blitz is a Scyther, remember the family tradition, well he was my pokemon mom chose for me. His sire was a Scizor and a Pidgeot here on the farm. He had grown up here like me and we hit it off, he was always itching for a battle and thanks to his parentage he was already moving at mach 1, when I found a way to make him a Scizor he was going to be another team powerhouse.

The last one isn't here yet, but is close. Sometime ago my dad's Skarmory went into heat, the whole single male population of the farm feared for their things, but thankfully my mom had a solution. She had Winona's Skarmory mate with dad's. We were good acquaintances of hers and she was happy to help. I had never been so thankful for the soundproof mating room in my life. When it was over an egg was produced. But since Skarmory are highly territorial by nature neither parent wanted the egg. I then asked for it and my dad gave it to me. He probably thought I was going to be a Steel-specialist like him, but nope. I was going the generalist route.

That brings ups another topic to speak about in this world. The trainers. They are each regions source of military might and we are even ranked in some order from strongest to weakest. Usually I wouldn't care, but this list made me giddy and here's why.

First was the Kanto/Johto regions thanks to Lance that badass dragon master who became champ of both regions, next is Sinnoh because of Cynthia being a generalist like me, then we have Hoenn in third thanks to my dad, followed by Kalos and that's a close one. Considering they are the ones who discovered mega evolution.

A quick side note. Mega evolution exists here and it is known to all. Every champion has at least one pokemon that can mega evolve, just like dad's shiny Metagross. I once asked him to show me it, but he said it was only for battle purposes. That was fine since I was going to have one of my own someday.

So we are close in strength to them, then we have Unova with the champion Alder, who is a generalist like Cynthia but older in years, and finally Alola but that's only because of cultural reason which the PWL respects.

As you know all gym leaders are of the specialist routes, The eight of them, plus elite four, and finally champion make up the 13 pillars of a region. Cool I know, they are the first and last line of defense in any emergency situation.

Again, sorry for the tangent. Now as I was saying a specialist sticks to a specific type of pokemon choosing to raise only those of that type. That means they know that types strength and weaknesses inside and out. Then we have the route I want to take which is generalist like Cynthia. It is the harder of the two, but better in the long run if you ask me. A generalist as the name implies doesn't focus on a single type of pokemon but on many, that puts us off at a slow start since pokemon of different typings have different growth rates, but once we get them all neat and tidy we are hard to put down since we have no set preference in battle. That's why I liked it to much.

I had just finished checking on the egg again and was heading back to dinner when I noticed it, the egg was glowing now. It was hatching right now of all times. I knew what do. I told everyone, then took the egg out of the incubator, went the living room, and placed it in the middle of the floor. All the pokemon moved into the kitchen area to watch the glow.

While the egg is hatching let me tell you about my mom's pokemon. She specializes in flying types like the farm and they are amazing. You know Mona her Dragonite, but she also has a Swellow, Staraptor, Pelipper, Noctowl, Crobat, Gliscor, and finally a Charizard. So you can see how she won the Ever Grande Conference.

"It happening." My mom murmured, the egg was shining brightly now.

You know games and the anime just can't do some things justice like evolutions and pokemon births. There is this energy you feel and this wonderment you get from watching these things happen with your own eyes up close and personal. The egg was now shining in blinding light, and some of us shielded our eyes as to not get blinded. Then it quickly died down and what was standing in the middle of the living room was a newborn Skarmory. My newborn Skarmory.

I walked right up to it without any fear. "Hey buddy welcome to the world." I had my hand extended toward it, it just stared at me for a moment. The tension was great until it rubbed it's head into my palm. I smiled at this.

"Would you like a name now?" It cawed in a happy manner. I had been thinking on this for a while now and had come up with a pretty good one. "How about Stardust?" It looked at me and then moved to nuzzle into my chest. That was a yes in my book. I took the name from the same Dragon in Yugioh, and yes I know Skarmory is not a dragon but the scales and armor on it fit with the motif in my head.

Thus a new member of my team was born that night.
