Written for Elfgreen week; prompt 'Flowers.'

It was not a big deal; Elfman could convince himself of that. But unfortunately he couldn't convince his older sister of that. Mira had made sure that he'd dressed up nicely, and bought gifts for Evergreen when he picked her up for their date. He'd gotten her some sweets she liked very much – and that had been quite expensive – and a card. He thought that was ok, but no. Apparently seeing as he'd 'been enough of a dolt to forget to buy even a few flowers' Mira was grounding him for a week after this and reducing his pocket money for a bit. He'd refrained from commenting that she wasn't his mother and that stuff didn't happen as it was, she seemed really freaked out over something other than his date.

When he asked if she was alright, she scoffed and started flying around the room, straightening everything up; despite the fact that the room was already immaculate. Deciding to try and just give her some peace of mind, she instantly calmed down when he told her he'd buy some flowers from the shop on his way to get Evergreen. After that he didn't have much time to pick up any clues to what was wrong with her, as he was being pushed out of the house by an 'in the mood for matchmaking,' frustrated Mirajane.

The door had slammed shut behind him before he even had a chance to complain at the rough treatment.

When he final made it to the guild's dormitories, he thought of all he'd encountered on his way here.

First obviously, he'd gone into the best flower shop and purchased the first bouquet he'd seen that could live up to Evergreen's standards and was still reasonably priced; he still had dinner to pay for after all. The one he'd settled on was a vibrant purple set with a few pinks and blues that complimented nicely. He'd gotten some coy looks from the women in town, which was almost a shame because they were really, really hot; thankfully he'd managed to stay loyal to Ever… barely.

Second, he'd been caught by Bickslow and Freed on his way up to the dorms, the seith wizard had teased him a lot while Freed had given him a subtle threat that if Elfman hurt his comrade, he'd never rest until he'd paid back that pain, tenfold.

The third encounter was running into Juvia, who thankfully hadn't stayed long, instead rushing off to find her 'Gray-sama' and ask for dates; apparently newly inspired by seeing him prepare for a night out with his loved one. He'd apologize to his friend later, having started walking away quickly to the dorms at that point.

When Evergreen finally came to the lobby, she was dressed in a dress that must have been one of her favourites, he could tell by the look on her face. He could see why she'd love it too, it suited her perfectly, accentuating every feature on her but not making her seem slutty like some of the things other women would wear. It was green, much like her regular choice of clothing and had an intricate flower pattern trailing downward in a spiral. She looked more beautiful than she ever had before, and he didn't even have to tell her to cause the pretty blush on her cheeks, he was just gaping that much.

She accepted the gifts with a grateful smile, before putting the flowers in a nearby vase to show off to Erza about her awesome date before they headed out.

Just the bonus prompt left, which I forgot to do when I was really meant to, will be up tomorrow.
