It was a saying she had been repeatedly told.

It's all a farce. The way he hides behind social etiquette, it hides his true nature. They would say again.

"If he is hiding his true self then how would you know his true nature would be bad at all?" She argued.

No one hides unless they've got something bad to hide, the voice responded almost instantly.

"Well. I believe that this man may be different," she says turning onto her stomach so she was face down. She looked at the mirror across the room where she believed the voice comes from. "I just have a good feeling about this man-"

No. No! The voice shrieked, if you could call it as such, it was an ear piercing inhuman sound. You can't trust your feelings. Feelings are bad. The voice hissed this as if feelings have personally insulted their entire existence. The thought almost made Christine smile, instead she frowned.

"You haven't had much experience with feelings, have you?"

No, of course not. The voice sounded almost frustrated, with whom she wasn't sure. But I do know that feelings aren't a reliable source. Do not trust them.

"Alright," Christine sounded almost reluctant in agreeing. "Perhaps I should ask one of my frien-"

No! The voice sounded completely revolted at the idea. You think your little dancer friends could be trusted? The voice sneered. To think that they would help you? Protect you? Just the thought alone is foolish! The voice seemed to be getting more and more agitated. No, no, no. They are not to be trusted.

"Than who pray tell? Should I trust?" Christine asked confused getting a little bit frustrated herself. There was a long pause in which Christine was afraid the voice wasn't going to answer until a low quiet sound echoed throughout the room.

Me.

Raoul De Chagny thought he was madly in love.

Christine knew better.

The voice after all told her so.
