Chapter 1: Anything For You

"Could you grab that diamond over there for me, my wittle Spikey-Wikey?"

"Of course. Anything for you, Rarity…"

Imaginary hearts began to appear under Spike and hovered him over to Rarity's desk, all while in a daze. On her desk was a beautiful diamond. One in which Spike could see Rarity's reflection perfectly. He proceeded to bringing it over to Rarity.

"Why, thank you, Spike!" Rarity said.

Spike simply nodded in response, as he was still memorized by Rarity.

"So beautiful…" Spike murmured, staring at Rarity.

"It is beautiful, isn't it?" Rarity responded, assuming he was talking about the diamond she was working with.

Spike continued spending the rest of the day with Rarity. Hours upon hours, until finally, the work load was done.

"Whew! We completed a lot of hard work today, Spike! How about I treat you to a little something nice?" Rarity asked him.

"Oh, um, alright!"

The two of them walked over to Sugar Cube Corner. Lucky for them, the store was open 24 hours day. Even when Pinkie Pie is sleeping, she somehow manages to run the shop as well. Rarity bought a cupcake for each of them.

Pinkie Pie giggled. "There you go! Two cupcakes! Have a good night!" she said, followed by a smile, and then she disappeared.

"There you go, Spike."

"Thank you! I normally don't eat cupcakes, but for you, I'd eat anything." Spike stared into Rarity's eyes.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Spike. I wasn't aware. You don't have to eat it if you don't want to," said Rarity.

Spike simply continued staring.

Rarity sighed. "Spike, I think we need to talk. This…this obsession of yours is getting out of hand."

"What obsession, Rarity?"

"Your obsession with me! I mean, don't get me wrong. I appreciate your fondness of me and all the help that you give me, but I don't think I deserve all the attention you always seem to be giving me."

"But of course you deserve it. You're amazing, Rarity!"

"I believe you think much more of me than simply being amazing. It's an obsession."

Spike looked confused and hurt. "It's not an obsession! Rarity, I-I-I love you!"

"No, Spike. You don't. Trust me. I've been in and out of love and have had several obsessions myself. I know this isn't true love, Spike. You need to find someone your age. Someone you can have common interests with and who is sharing common experiences with you. Someone you can connect with instead of always looking up to and admiring." Rarity explained. "I'll go drop you off at Twilight's for now. Ok?"

No response.

In Rarity's monologue, she hadn't noticed that the little baby dragon had fallen asleep! She sighed. "Oh, Spikey-Wikey, what am I going to do with you?"
