"Did you get it?" Kili whispered to his brother as they bent down behind a large rock.

"Of course I did." Fili grumbled as he pulled out a wrapped package from behind his back.

"Uncle Thorin is on his way. I just saw him leaving the kitchen." Kili informed his brother as he snatched the package and quickly unwrapped it to reveal two containers. "Which one do you want?"

"Uhh that one." Fili pointed to the bag full of white feathers.

"Alright I'll take this one. When Uncle Throin walks past I'll sneak out behind him and pour this over him then you step out and throw the feathers at him." Fili nodded at his brothers plan and they waited. The afternoon started to stretch on and Thorin was nowhere to be found.

"I thought you said he was on his way?" Fili asked. Slightly irritated at his brother.

"He was, I swear he was." Kili replied as they stood up from behind the rock and looked out to where their uncle should have been.

"Where is he?" Kili asked the universe as he shook his head.

"Behind you." Thorin's deep voice bellowed from behind his nephews. Kili and Fili jumped in shock throwing their packages in the air above them only to have them land on each of their heads. Slowly they turned around to face their uncle who was laughing whole heartedly at the feather covered pair.

"That's what you get for trying to cover me in that." He said before walking away leaving the two standing there looking like a pair of chickens. Kili and Fili looked at each other and burst out laughing. They looked ridiculous and even though they didn't get their uncle, they got each other which made it all worth it.
