I couldn't forget it.
That day, when the moon was destroyed.
It was a catastrophe of the world. An era when countless spirits disappeared, witches lost their magic, werewolves left as weak as just big dogs, and demons was slayered back by their victims.
That time, my body indeed was heating, losing its great amount of power. Soon, I would meet the grassland on my foot. Oxygens almost left my lungs while I was staring at the great scarlet moon behind my spectacle lens.
The moon... was falling apart.
I didn't even mind to decide it was a terrifying or a beautiful scene, before I knew it I was passed out on the top of my beloved forest hill.
When I was finally awake, I was wrapped by a familiar darkness of the forest. I didn't exactly know why, but a horrible bad feeling came to me afterwards. What happened in detail while I still unconscious was indeed worrying, but this instinct screamed another thing else. Ignoring the disintegration of the moon, I tried to fly to the castle. Realizing that suddenly I couldn't even fly higher any fifty centimeters above the ground, I was left choosing to ran over there. My heart already swelled when I found the supposed always shine castle light was gone. With a little fire from a match, I made my way entering the dark castle.
And I was right, I couldn't find The Guardian of Forest anywhere. Worse; as if evaporated, her magic mirror was gone without even a single sherd left. When I found that a huge part of the forest spell disappeared later, I realized that The Guardian of Forest was no longer alife. Remembered her kind and caring smile only made my tears dropped from my eyes before I knew it.
Didn't need a long time, for wars fell upon the outside world. I could tell that the humanity side won when they came to the forest after some time to put the ownership over the area. Being the only resident left that they found worthy enough for the agreement, I agreed with them on the reason didn't want any war on this land.
War never once bring any good thing.
Except its moral value to never do it again.
I didn't know if my choice was right though, since the forest still remain as the infamous forbidden forest. Years passed and the forest still as same as ever, except the lacking existence of The Guardian of Forest and the changing residents.
Soon, the forest became a bit lively than before. I had never believed myself before to see this forest became a little crowded. Maybe because the war effects, there were many new residents that abandoned, escaped, hiding, or just visiting. But I was glad to knew this little existences in this forest. Especially to knew someone was there visiting me regularly.
But, I could never had been more glad and terrified again at the same time, when the mastermind behind the destroyed moon came to change this Forest of The End into some kind of Assassination Forest.
One of the oldest resident of Forest of The End,Okuda Manami - The Grand Witch.
