June makes her way grudgingly through the brushes, stepping over large roots intertwined on the ground and pushing stray branches out of her face. The darkness creeps up around her as the sun sets after a laborious day of inducing heat stroke upon anyone who dare go out. Even through the heavy canopy of leaves and tree branches, she glimpses the warm pink and orange hues of the sun going down.

Why couldn't we meet somewhere like... at home? Is it really necessary to meet in a creepy forest? June sighs. He didn't even say where exactly we were supposed to meet. June wanders endlessly through the woods until it is time. Glancing nervously at her watch, she pushes past some more foliage and then a large, rough hand clasps tightly around her mouth. A muscular arm is around her instantaneously, stifling her attempts to escape. Then, a familiar voice whispers in her ear.

"Hush!" it hisses.

June promptly stops her struggles and tries to get her breathing back to a moderate level. Slowly, she is released and she turns to face her attacker straight in the eye. Her older brother meets her angry gaze with a stern one of his own and looks grimly around them, his body tense. June's anger and annoyance is replaced with confusion but she doesn't say anything. Then she hears a slight rustling a few feet away, she turns toward it and something pounces on her.

It is a gruesome thing to behold; its teeth gnashing at her throat, dripping saliva. Red eyes glow down at her in the darkness and June can barely hold it off. Monstrous, white teeth narrowly miss her neck once again and they are unnervingly straight. No fangs. No incisors. Just normal white teeth. Her brother is on top of it in an instant and it disappears in a puff of smoke. Stunned, June looks up to see her brother, standing, with a titanium stake in one hand and a holy cross in the other. She's just been attacked. By a vampire.
