Title: The Challenge
Disclaimer: I own no part of the Harry Potter world.
Rating: T (just to be on the safe side)
Author's Notes: Just a little something that I wrote for my Creative Writing Class. Kinda liked it, so I thought why not put it here.
The Challenge
Hands gripping roughly on his shoulders,
I slammed him to the unrelenting stone floor.
He grunted, pushing with all his might,
But his strength could not beat mine.
He stayed, glued, to the floor.
Straddling his narrow hips,
I release my iron grip.
Giving him the chance to move,
A chance at the fight in him I know he has.
In a blink of an eyelid,
We flew across the floor.
A growl tore through his lips
As we were switched.
I ran my hands down his bare shoulders
and down his arms.
Feeling the cold that had lingered there
After his stint on the floor.
It rose the hair on my forearms
As the cold moved through my hands
And the cloth on my back.
A shudder released,
One that I couldn't not hold back.
He froze,
His brow furrowed in confusion.
He shook his mane of silver hair.
He sat up, still holding on to me,
His grip like a vise upon my collar.
I waiting patiently,
As time ran by.
His weight was lifted off.
He stood up straight
Looking down at me
From his perch above
His face free from his usual scowl.
His body paused for a moment
A brief emotion flicked through his eyes.
One that those only close to him would notice.
Or one such as me that just sat back and watched.
Reaching out a small alabaster hand,
He gripped my calloused one
Hauling me to my feet
The rustle of my clothes
As they brushed against the floor.
We stood there,
Closer then we had ever been
Without fists in between.
My fingers itching
To push that single lock
Out of his face.
His smile froze
As he looked down at our still joined hands.
I squeezed his gently
His eyes locked with mine.
He dropped my hand
As I stole his trademark smirk
He took a step forward
Then paused and looked back at me
He beckoned me with on single delicate finger
A daring look in his molten eyes.
A/N: I love reviews! Good and Bad, that's how I learn. Let me know what you think if you have the chance. Thanks!
