A/N: first posted Doctor Who fic. Not the first one I've written just the first posted, but still... and I've written for other fandoms, but still... It's still a first so don't judge too harshly. Also, reviews are love and Doctor Who doesn't belong to me.
Rose opened the TARDIS panel and looked into it, and then, the TARDIS looked into her. Rose remembers the first time she met the Doctor, what he told her when she asked who he was, what he said about feeling the world turn and about falling through space, clinging the planet. The Doctor understated it a bit. It wasn't just Earth, it was every planted out there; the dead ones, the living ones, the ones that have been destroyed, the ones that still are, and the ones that have not yet come into existence. And it stretched beyond that.
In one moment Rose could feel all that is, was, and would be. In one moment Rose could see every possible choice, and yet still more were forming. Rose could feel the heartbeat of every living creature on every planet. 'Focus,' she hears herself whisper through time and space. 'Find the Doctor.' And there he is, glowing purer than any other timestream. Rose focuses on the moment he is in now; ignores all the other names that attach themselves to him, catching only flashes; River, Pond, Ace, Jack, Ian, Master, Martha, Donna, Sara, Donna, K-9. She doesn't care about them, only cares about the Doctor. 'There,' she finds him. 'Go,' she whispers to the TARDIS.
It gets blurry after that and she mostly lets the power coursing through her do all the work. "I want you safe. My Doctor," she tells him at one point; stupid man. As if she could leave him. Oh, but the days ahead- the worst day of her life and then the best day. And the faces, so many faces for just one man to wear. But those aren't important now. Right about then is when the singing started. Her head was hurting and the singing seemed to know what to do, so she lets it take control for a while. The strange confusing fog lifts when a pair of warm lips meets hers. Rose's eyes flash open and then flutter closed as the Doctor kisses her.
Rose jolts awake in her bed. "Dreams again?" asks the Doctor.
Rose nods. "Do you remember what you told me the first time I asked you who you were? About the world turning and falling through space?"
"Yeah," the Doctor said, looking concerned.
"You understated it a bit." Rose went back to sleep that night with the Doctor's laughter in her ears and his human heart beneath her cheek. He last thought before unconsciousness took her were to wonder whether her other Doctor, her Timelord Doctor, was still running for his life.
